Steering rack noise anyone ?
When the car is static (parking) and I turn the steering wheel on the left, I get a noise and sort of vibration.
Is anyone else having this issue ? Surprisingly, I had the same thing on my X5 E70.

If it's a clicking noise - this is normal apparently!
However you may want to have wheel bearings checked out just in case.

Are you talking about going full lock (steering wheel max rotation left or right)?
If so, yes my steering wheel vibrates and makes a noise upon full lock. Recommend avoiding full lock, or when you hit it, let off some right away. That is what I do.

Mine also vibrates when turning left at low speeds, like in parking lots, etc. It feels as if the front tires are trying to grip too hard. Yet there is no vibration when turning right. But I haven't noticed any strange noise. I always thought this is normal behavior...

I also have an E70 /like the topic starter/, and it also has this vibration with 20" wheels, but it disappears with the 19"s winter set, hence I thought this was normal... |

Yep. Had the exact same issue. Basically at full lock or low speed hard turn (e.g. in and out of a parking spot) I'd get a bit of a low grind noise but more noticeable was vibration in the steering wheel. I brought it in and after a bit of back and forth the service center confirmed it was an issue. I had the entire power steering rack replaced. I'd say it's significantly better but not completely gone.

OP: I know what you are talking about. I fee the same thing on mine. It feels like the geometry of the front suspension is changing as you are turning and the tires are not getting enough grip and are vibrating off the ground a bit. Only on slow parking lot turns left and right when it is near the end of the steering rack.

So I took my m5 to serive, I only have 1800 miles. They showed me it only happens to me when I have the brake slightly on. So there is no problem, If you have your foot on the brake the pads are not fully on the rotor so there is space that causes the vibration and the shaking of the wheel and steering wheel. when you push the brake fully the vibration is gone because there is no space between the pad and the rotor. Also with using brake it wont vibrate.

Apparently almost all new M's have this issue. Clicking noise when turning the wheel to the right (in my case). Bmw Germany send all of us who have M's here this thing in the picture. This is a add on not a change. And this solves the problem.
Sorry for the bad picture, my camera lens is broken on IPhone. |

It looks like it comes as a pack of 4 and one goes either side of the disc at the front:
