Car arrived today. I took it out and it's on a whole other level from the Porsche and the Cali T HS. I did a little exhaust comparo with the Cali before it was loaded on the truck.

Winning, so glad you got this car---- the sound clip was not fair since the 488 was further back but the Cali does seem to have more pops/burbles no???

Thanks and you are welcome too.

However, what I don't have is a comparison of the two when they are being driven and there the 488 wins by a couple of car lengths. It has the Ferrari scream when you get over 4k and in RACE mode the valves stay open all the way down to 2500 rpm so it's kind of like driving in sport plus on the 991tts but not as rough. The car sits very low so you are getting in and out the same way as with the Porsche, dropping down or lowering yourself in. Getting out is work and I lost legroom but I expected that. Having the top down and hearing that v8 behind me is just amazing. The car hugs the road really well. I took it out to some of the best twistys around this morning. There is a road out here called Lime Creek road and it has a ton of really tight curves with banks and reverses. Very challenging driving and no need to get out of 3rd much so the car is loud and the driving is a blast. So far, after 150 miles yesterday and today, I have to say, this is the best car I have ever owned for what it does. The RR is the best for what it does. Just my biased view though. |

Took it to the track last week, bested my 991tts time by 2 seconds on three successive laps. The car is really fast, handles the corners really easily and I still had it in race mode using the paddle shifters.

BTW wrsbmw Have you ever owned a 458? Just picked one up off a client of mine since I can't afford the 488 just yet.. I've driven the 458 and it's a great car and love the exhaust compared to the 488, but the 488 updated look is simply too gorgeous!

I haven't owned a 458 but I was considering it before buying the 488. I really like the turbo acceleration so I stuck with turbo. I think both cars look great. |

Another trip to COTA and more faster times. Here is one of them at 2:36. In the third session they moved me up to a faster run group and unfortunately the Vbox didn't stay plugged in and the gopro ran out of juice. Here is a fast lap in the slower group through traffic.
