In case anyone is interested, my dealer is looking into it. Service Foreman drove my car today and definitely noticed something off. I'll update this thread: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1360005
when I get more details back from them. |

Adding to this thread - I have it on my 2015 CP M6 but did not have it on my 2013 M5.
Someone mentioned it was like a tuning fork at freeway speed. I will be bringing it up my SA when I see him in a month.

It amazes me that bmw hasn't resolved the issue after so many people have it and it's been so long
. I recently bought a bmw buy back 2015 m5. The issue was obviously steering vibration. The paper work from bmw says . They had replaced the steering wheel and vibrator motor. So far I haven't felt any vibration except road vibration. I also just got new tires 20 inch ps4s We shall see. |

Finally got this problem solved. There is a BMW bulliten out for the M5&M6 to replace the vibration generator if the wheel exhibits a buzzing problem. Just had mine done and completely solved this annoying problem after 50k miles.

Ok, I am obviously late to the thread, but that is exactly what was replaced on my '14 a couple of months ago. Took care of the problem. Sorry I did not share sooner.

I turn it in next week for end of lease. Ugh! Do all cars with the problem have the lane departure warning? I hope my G30 M550i doesn't have the problem.

My ‘14 does this also on certain surfaces. It either is a screeching vibration in the column or rattling in the steering wheel like the vibrator is loose, totally fitting with this service bulletin. I need to go in for an appointment on this.

14 M5 Steering feel and vibration
Just purchased a 14 M5 with 50k on it and am really trying to like it but have mixed feelings. The biggest beef is the steering feel, especially on grooved freeways above 80mph but even at low speed just feels disconnected, as if something is loose but have taken it to 3 different shops and all say its fine...Its definitely not the lane departure, which it has but that is a different vibration. The car feels not connected and takes bumps like it has no shocks...
Tires are near new. My 2010 550 was awesome, felt planted. This thing feels like it has 10 computers all trying to do something different. Sometimes it seems ok and others not. Guessing different road surfaces... I have a 18 GT3 and owned many cars over the years, none felt disconnected like this... Any advice would be appreciated. Love it or list it? Dunno... |

Ok it's a Comp which has approx 20% stiffer set up to the non comp one.
What's it like in all the other suspension settings ss,sport, etc and I presume tyre pressures are what they should be inflated and more for hi speed. |
