A few questions
1. Do the VRSF downpipes come with the gaskets that would be required ? 2. Could you provide the gaskets and required replacement part numbers so that they can be purchased for this mod? 3. For the folks who did VRSF are there any concerns with heat in the engine compartment ? 4. Like mentioned before, the torque settings will be much appreciated |

Extremely great write up
Thanks so much for this write up
It’s by far extremely accurately detailed. For anyone not having a lift, it can get really hard to do. I got a shop to do it under my supervision and it took 4 hrs Love the way the car sounds with competition package and catless downpipes. |

Might want to have an extra v-band clamp or two. When I removed mine from the turbo the clamping bolt was seized. Had to crack it loose and get another clamp from bmw.

Just did mine, this write up definitely helped make the process go smoothly. The smell though.... not for the faint of heart, but that turbo spool makes it so much worth it!

I still did put the car on a ramp and loosened the mid-section since I bought new crush exhaust gaskets. |

I was quoted $750 to install the downpipes. Was told it's a 7hr job but my research tells me that its a 2-3 hr job. How long did it take you guys?
I do oil changes and replaced brakes on my RSV4 and 4runner but that's about it. Is this an easy job? Anybody know of any reputable shops in KC, Tulsa or Bentonville/Fayetteville area that doesn't charge $$$$? |

The job can easily be done in 3-4 hours by an experienced tech. The key is finding a shop with experience with this platform, otherwise you're going to pay someone to learn how to install downpipes

Can someone explain how the gasket ring goes onto the midpipe?
I see you explained that in 12a but I thought there was only 1 gasket, now I'm realizing theres two and I did not mess with it... I ended up having fitment issues with the driver side but just blamed it on the downpipe. Could this have been because of the gasket being in the wrong spot? This is the gasket i'm talking about: ES#2589980 |

In theory you should make sure you have enough room to put the gaskets on the DP then push the exhaust up to it and tighten the nuts, however on mine all I did was loosen (but not remove) the nuts and put the downpipe in place Last edited by Maxwell4321; 05-25-2019 at 03:38 PM.. |

The pipes have been made wrong since day 1. Tiago keeps saying they fixed them. Thanks for posting install photos showing they still fit like garbage and the O2 bung is still in the wrong position!
I'm still waiting for my replacement parts and/or my money back so I can buy parts that fit as they are claimed to. |
