Wireless charging solutions?
Has anyone come up with some clean wireless charging solutions? I've been looking at small circular pads for the cupholder bin or other solutions in the center armrest console. The terrible snap-in adapter gets in the way of most. Any thoughts or solutions? TIA

Take advantage of the snap in cradle and pick up the OEM inductive charging tray.

Thanks for the part number. Quick investigation shows that the OEM inductive charging tray is anywhere from $200-300 and looks like the install requires complete removal of the adapter tray and pass through wiring (I could be wrong).
I invested in this cheap solution before I saw your post. Found this $15 wireless charging pad (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and this $10 4.8A USB adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) None are affiliate links. For install, I removed the "dummy" snap-in adapter, put the charging pad down along with a short 6-inch micro USB cable and here are the results. Overall inexpensive solution that I don't think looks too bad. I'm able to put my phone on (Iphone X) and still close the center arm rest while it's charging. I considered cutting up the "dummy" adapter cover to cover up the OEM plugs but I'm fine with the look right now. Might consider some velcro strips underneath the charging pad but haven't had the pad or phone come loose under standard driving conditions. Overall, not too shabby for $25. |

Are you using this tray? Checked that it it not compatible for any of the F10, but some older E90 even E46 can fit, don't know should try to get one or not.

Thanks agin, it works great. The only issue I have is sometimes my phone slides rearward (who knows why ), and stops charging. May have to find something that functions to keep it a little tighter in there.

I am using the Pitaka magnetic mount with wireless charging for my iphone. I took the CD-tray mount and used that to wedge it lateral to the AC controls. It is incredibly sturdy mounted like this, and it leaves the phone easy to reach and see while driving. The charging cable is routed in the groove between the leather panels and down to the charging port under the glove box. The attached pic is on my '19 m6, but I had the same mount on my M5.

Well, that’s weird. I’ve had 2 F10’s and now have an F06, and all had a cigarette lighter-type 12v outlet underneath the glove box. All are on the left side. You have to get your head down in the footwell and look up with a flashlight to see it.

Can you share a picture or two of how you secured this to the dash there? I'm looking for something similar and this might just fit the bill, if I could see how you mounted it. |

Ah I think I found it:
PITAKA Magnetic Qi Wireless Charging Air Vent/CD Slot/Suction Car Mount Holder Is that an older version? Wonder if the one they sell now is improved at all. |

Anyone used this "BMW Snap-in Adapter for Apple with Lightning Connector
84212365786". I know it's not wireless, but I'm curious if it will fit the iPhone 11. I have to use USB for the BMW Apps integrations. https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/6...NING-CONNECTOR |

Also, it's a bit clunky and have to always adjust to to work. I wouldn't pay the price for it. I'd rather invest in ProClip mount and route the wires to hide it. They have a mount that has the iPhone cable installed so you slide it in and click to charge. I had it on my M5 and Hellcat. Awesome setup. I had the wire come through the AC vent since it attaches to the panel there

That's actually not the wireless charging adapter I'm referring to. I know which one you are talking about. It goes in the cupholder and is portable. This one is a snap in adapter with a lightning connector that appears to be "generic" apple device compatible as I'm assuming the iPhone 10s and 11s are too big to have a dedicated snap-in adapter. At least in the F10/F11.
