Weird marks on roof
Hey all,
Can someone help identify what is on my roof? I tried to remove us with a clay bar and polish and wasn't able to. Any idea what this is? |

Was it like that when you acquired the car? If so, it might be the result of oil or brake fluid dripping on the roof while it was sitting under another car (rack or transporter). Try removing all the wax and clean it with a prep fluid or alcohol. It looks like it might have been on the sunroof glass and blown back off there.
Good luck

Unfortunately, noticed it only a couple months ago. I don't remember seeing it when I bought the car. It could very well be brake fluid or oil. I'll keep hitting it with compound (after stripping the wax and claying of course). |

it may well take a few tries with solvents to remove it if it is oil stained. Be careful with trying to compound it too much so you down go through the paint. (A lesson learnt on one of my 5 series )

Oh yes, I'll have a friend lend me his clear coating thickness gauge before I go crazy with the compound
