Federal Evoluzion F60 Tire Review
It's been a couple thousand miles since I put these on my 2013 M5 (stage 2 93 oct BM3 tune), and I really wanted to share how much I like these tires.
Backstory: I purchased this car back in October and the previous owner had recently installed a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Those tires, as most know, are not very good a putting high power to the ground. 1st and 2nd gear were about useless, and unless they were up to temp, 3rd gear would easily break loose as well. After about 4 thousand miles of use, I started to lose air in my front left tire. I jacked it up expecting to find a screw or a nail, but instead found the inside of every tire worn to the cord. Previous owner says it was aligned after the Dinan suspension install, but if so, they must have done a horrible job. Coming previously from a 600hp 335i and running the Federal RSRR tires (another amazing tire for the price) I started to look to see if I could find them in the right size for this car, but unfortunately they don't make them in anything bigger than an 18. I did however come across their new tire, the Evoluzion F60 which is aimed at cars like these. Unfortunately there were almost no good reviews online, but because of the price point, my experience with their RSRRs, and the fact that they won the Red Dot award for this tire as well, I decided to take a gamble. Man I'm glad I did. These tires are much stickier than the PSS's and handle corners just as well too. I can now get almost all my power down in second gear once I get the tires up to temp, and first gear is much more manageable. Too early to rate tire wear, but I'll report back when I finally wear them out. I expected road noise to be bad since the RSRRs were very loud tires, but I'm happy to say these are very quiet tires. I cannot compare them to the PS4s as I haven't tried them yet, but I would guess that they are probably very close, if not on par with them. These tires are a far better choice than the much more expensive PSS, and well worth heavy consideration if you're thinking of the PS4s. Last edited by prelude2perfect; 01-05-2021 at 05:58 AM.. |

How sticky are they when in M2 (spirited) mode? Any rain use thus far?

Since I assume you sourced the best price shipped...mind sharing where you purchased?

They were difficult to find for sure. I had to buy the fronts from Simple Tire and the rear from amazon. Looks like the rears are currently out of stock from where I purchased from on amazon. I would give simple tire a try and see if they have them in stock again.

That's too bad. If it was me, and when these tires eventually need to be replaced it will be me, I would reach out to Federal directly and ask them for a good distributer.
