Moving to s63tu platform - reliability
Hi guys!
After going through several bmw platforms, n20,n55,s55,b58, I think I want to move on to a m6 gran coupe this time. The one I'm looking at has pretty high mileage 77k, comp pack and all the goodies, good oil change history. Only thing holding me back is horror story of a friend with a n63tu locked up at 69k out of nowhere. Now, I work on my car, and plan to do all injectors and coils if I get it, and I over maintain my cars like crazy. Are there anything else I should plan for, or, should I just pass on this and look at something else? Appreciate the feedbacks |

Listen how it starts from cold and if it's running okay when hot then why go and start changing things when they don't need to be, oft forgotten things are the air filters which are fiddly to replace together with the air-con filters when they start to smell.
It should be fine so go ahead. |

Like others have said, these engines are good if they are well maintained. Another thing to check for is if there is any blue smoke coming from the exhaust when you rev it or go WOT.
