Competition M601 Wheels going from 295/30 to 305/30/20
Hi all hope you are well.
1. I have seen a few posts about people changing their 295 tyres for the rear 20inch for 305 wide tyres, but some people recommending spacers, and others implying they are not needed. With the 601 wheels that came with the Competition spec car from 2014, has anyone tried the 305 tyres successfully without using spacers? 2. I'm looking at trying the Continental Sport 7s on the basis of all the recent reviews... anyone have experience with them on the M5? 3. The backup option are Pilot Sport PS4 (mine have Pirelli Pzeros and not too happy with them). However the tyre man at Camskill was pushing the SuperSports... and he claims the BMW Michelin PS4 is different from a regular PS4, and the BMW one is not available for 295/30s and 265/35s. He was pushing the SuperSports, but these seem like an old tyre not me... not sure whether to believe this. Many thanks in advance |

The 'standard' PS4S with are the ones for M5 F10 not ones with NO,MO or AO.
On the 20'' M5 sizes there is not a star on PS4S's to signify BMW fitment though they are on the Super Sports and a lot on here go for the former as they are better in grip and longevity. Where the 4S wins is in a tread pattern that actually adjusts itself slightly to match the cars performance in speed and cornering, a Michelin patent. I have 305's on the rear without spacers from '17 manufacture, they look great and are still sharp with little chirping on take offs. |
