Thank You Scott!
I wonder what Singapur Grau will look like in person? Looks similar to Sophisto Grey but with a little bit of a violet hue..... |

Those fuel figures are very good, the whole package seems faultless for this sort of car, hopefully it sounds nice, too.
To all the people complaining about the weight... You do realize this is a 4 door, 5 seat, large sized saloon car with just about every gadget in the book, right? Its not like all its rivals are feather-weights either, they are all in the same sort of weight division, some even heavier. You want a light, nimble car? Then go by a 1M. Fact is, if you want/need a bigger saloon car, it's probably going to be heavy. As for the people whining about the X5/6M power output compared to the M5... This thing weighs almost 400kg (almost 900lbs) less, has an improved power curve, a dual clutch transmission and launch control. That would be like complaining if the M2 had a similar output to the 1M but it had M DCT, improved power delivery, launch control and weighed a third of a ton less... Crazy. Trust me, it'll be biblically quick and properly good. The new M5 has plenty of power...

Wow! Ok, so I want one within the production run, and need to write the 'i can genuinely afford this' plan like yesterday.

wasn't the whole point behind idrive to minimise the number of buttons?

If you compare the cockpit to , say the Mercedes-Benz E63 or CLS63 AMG then you will see that the M5 is sparse in comparison in regards to switchgear. Whereas the AMG is like getting behind the wheel of a commercial airliner.
But the sparse M5 interior is to air it's simplicity as a business car that at the touch of the M button transforms into a high performance sport car. When you see the M5 it's intentions are not entirely clear until you get behind the wheel. It is deliberately understated. When you see the equivalent AMG you know it's intentions immediately as AMG has a touch of the theatrical in it's execution. But thats what makes an AMG and thats what makes an M5 - One sets out to be loud and in your face and the M5 just sums up the well known phrase - "It's always the quiet ones"

It doesn't have parking assist because you need Electric Power Steering in order to get that option. The M5 comes with Hydraulic Power Steering.

Well, and efficiency. Funny, because it seems like we only care about performance as a car enthusiasts. but we gotta remember this car is meant to do "everything" from taking your kid who missed their school bus to pulling best nurburgring lap times.

And thank goodness for that. I'd take hydraulic steering over electric steering anyday, even if it means lack of extra options like parking assist.

Are the tires 20" or 19". The post says 20 but the spec says 19. And they have the same width and aspect ratio so it can't the that the 20 is a sport package version. Something not clear to me here

Of elec Steering tells us that it is not ready for prime time on performance cars. Would not be surprised if it becomes an option of later model f10s tied to the park assist option. For now until it is perfected hydraulic ftw
