Inexpensive corvettes have this feature . This is a planning/launch issue not an engineering issue . IMO this feature will be available in the 2014 M5. Therefore it behooves you to lower your investment cost in the 2013 by getting goodwill compensation from BMW.

Guys this position is not one you can win! BMW pulls out a document it's was a US issue, and the case is closed. They may settle on goodwill for repeat customers, other than that it's not worth their time in court. Hate to say it I work for large company this falls on deaf ears the more you complain. Not trying to be crash, but M5's will sell on no matter how much we complained. Good luck anyway.

IMO the M5 will not be a barn burner seller. Dealers next MY will I am confident ,be offering alot more than the few percent off MSRP that some did this year to move them. My opinion has nothing to do with the attributes of the car . I enjoy mine very much. The issue in my view is the economy , gas prices vs the M5 MPG and the constantly improving competition( plus I would not be surprised to see enough used 2013's back on the market to make it worth while to select buyers to get a previously owned one). |

So true, and every other brand in the six figure range. Just a question, and ask yourself how many people say well they had the "oil pump" thing so I'm not buying? If your looking for a new car you can get a deal on anything. I'm still smiling when I start it up, and my view it's still a car hope your enjoying yours. True story my cousin just dumped a Bently, and he had a hard time with them with similar issues some of us have seen .....it happens at all levels bro.

Good point, but it's still a low production car. Many owners want their car built to their spec. My local dealer has two cars with bad options, and the 19' wheels which is a no go for most. However they have sold a ton of build to spec cars vs. the ordered spec dealer cars. Most of us on this board didn't buy off the lot.

There is no answer to this but money. My dealer wanted me to try for an agreement to get BMW to retrofit the seat when it comes out next year. I judged that to be a moonshot request and went for money to lower my ownership cost. When the seat does come out you can use the money as a downpayment to retrofit it if it bothers you that much.
