Driving from NYC to Montreal along I87 somewhere north of Lake Placid in a rental I wasn't authorized to drive at around 75. I clear a bit of rain-fog and this pregnant doe is scurrying across the road. I've seen them along the sides of roads but never broadside like that

You didn't hit her though, did you? I grew up in Michigan. That happened all the time. Fortunately, I never hit one. My wife lived more ... Ahem.. rurally so she hit a few.

I've eaten a lot of BBQ in many of our fine United States and i haven't found any that trumps the pulled pork/chick/ribs that are prepared within a mile form my house. Jelly, i'm not.

There is good BBQ to find all over the country... well, except in the North East. Sucks for them. lol Thinking about it now, I didn't find much BBQ in California either.
