Maybe something ruptured a fuel line possibly? Either way, it's very sad to see it happen but I am glad you were able to get out of the car unharmed.

Possibly - definitely started in the middle/rear of the car. Not methanol I am 100%. I just checked all the lines and they are perfectly intact. Some damn OEM component. I did get a fuel tank vent code the other day..

Very sorry to hear about it. I am a retired firefighter, fire marshal and arson investigator and have investigated many vehicle fires. It seems that what kept this going so intensely is that the power to the fuel pump never got cut off.
