Uniden R3, Blendmount, MirrorTap
Finally had a chance to install my radar detector and mount that was in my old car. The folks at BlendMount were super-fast with a part of the bracket that I needed since the M5 mirror post is different than was the one in my E92 M3.

How hard was the wiring part of it? I just picked up a R3 and want to do a similar setup.

I'd like to mount my snooper4 like that rather than the ubiquitous sucker mount on the w/screen.

I used the Zip ties that came with the MirrorTap to keep the tap in place since you're not soldering wires together. Needle-nose pliers will help you push the spade plug as far into the connector as it can go. Make sure you try the detector before you close everything up And when you tap into the mirror like this, the R3 turns on and off with your ignition. Use the brown/black wire for the ground and the green/white one for the power. If I did this, anybody can.

Happy New year all,
Got car triple bucket washed, clay bared and sealed. This morning I put in a "non" oiled filter and removed the charcoal filters. Took about 20 minutes when taking main screw on side out and removing the whole Air boxes.

First oil and filter change. What a pain without a lift. Had to drive up on 2x4s for my low profile jack to make it under the car. Then didn’t have room for my creeper once I had it on the stands. I think I’ll be hitting up friends with a lift the next time. Made me miss the 997.2

I used to go through the same hassle, using one jack to lift the M5 so I could get the larger jack under in the front. Bought the QuickJack BL-5000EXT car lift and it's so much easier! Don't have to position four jack stands and do the floor jack shuffle anymore. Look up quickjack.com online to check out their product. It's still snug underneath on the creeper, but with the 4" rubber spacer there's enough room to work. And I can leave the car on it for the long Michigan winters.

Yes, the EXT is longer than previous versions. Check out the QuickJack website and it will give you all the dimensions and capacities.

Have been enjoying my Snooper4 radar detector with GPS.I thought of mounting it near the rear view mirror but in the end it sits squarely on the dash with the wire at the moment hanging down to the power socket,I'll figure out a neat route for it in the coming days perhaps utilising the hard wire into a suitable port as with the front dash cam.I'm happy with the protection it offers also the GPS read out for exact mph compared with the speedo reading on car which is showing slightly faster. At 30mph its actually around 28 on the Snooper.

How hard were the spark plugs? I'm debating doing that soon.
