Just went on a crazy wild run against an M3. Only time he ever got anything on me was when were were on a 50 mph roll and he stomped it and I had to play catch up (ie: he jumped :-) . I was prob a gear high too. We went do a very long windy road with a few sharp turns and long sweeping curves. He was leading. I was on his tail like glue and I honestly never felt like I was pushing the car more than 70% or so ( and that is prob over exaggerating since I don't really know the limits of this amazing car). He was definitely on the edge. I was hoping he wasn't gonna flip it. I def missed the M5 power on that one little run where he jumped because the M5 would have just sucked that few inches up in about a millisecond but I still had him overpowered and in the turns I was thinking abut how different the run would have been if I were trying to chase him in the M5. Lets just say it would have been a bit scary and not so controlled. He would have put distance between us in every turn and and I would have been reeling him in after coming out. I also would have been letting up in the long sweeping curve to keep from losing it and stomping hard on the brakes trying to manage the weight. Way more fun in the 991. It was like driving an F1 car with that engine screaming and being in total control. It is so natural to fly around and not really even have to look too much at the gauges. You feel and hear the car when it is near the engines limits in every gear and you just pop that PDK and never miss a beat. Very easy to just focus on the road ahead. And braking...wow! Easy to get on and off with no sense of loss of balance. Hard on the gas in the turns. Hard in brakes late off the straights and diving into the next. Feels so natural. So precise with everything. Every time I fire her up I connect with the car more and more. You know exactly what she wants to do and she responds to your every intention too like a sexy girlfriend waiting on you hand and foot serving you Pina Coladas poolside in Cabo
Man where were you on the indy 500 track? You're pushing going to shawshank ..........you're having too much fun my friend. When out for a 30 mile ride a little after sunrise by Peachtree Lake really nice, and some nice twisty roads. Fun is over going back to NY, and have to drive the Escalade what fun. Noway I will take the toys on those terrible roads and traffic.
Haha! Nah. A road by my house. After the curves he got reckless and I backed off and turned around. I actually was just out for a Sunday drive. I cruise around in this thing slowly with Starbucks in my hand. But I had just finished and was right around the corner from my house when he went past me. I couldn't let that opportunity go by-lol! I don't usually drive too crazy. I'm an old man with a family just like you remember? :-) occasional little spirited runs. Mostly just cruising around with the windows down enjoying the sounds and driving experience. :-)

Drove from ATL to M school in South Carolina very comfortable. Yes I drove it to M school like being the odd ball(: Instructor said who's bad ass car is that in the lot. He did joke about the engine in the back when teaching weight distribution all good.

Probably trade/sell it. I can't have two cars- that's why it's complicated for me- the either or thing.

They still have the one I was working the deal with them last month- not sure where it was hidden. Fate.

We should be doing more thAn Starbucks! And the commissions should be coming from J.E.

You guys are the best reps they have!

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I thought (almost hoped) that they had sold the one I was looking at. I found it hidden in the back since they had done some custom paint work and were preparing to put her on display at Tiffany's in Phipps. She was due to go there on Friday. I picked her up on Wed.

Before you trade with them we need to talk. I have something that will give you a HUGE advantage. PM me and I will send you my phone# so we can talk.

It's rare that on a car forum I see unbiased praise for superior vehicles. It's refreshing to know that there are true enthusiasts here!

With that being said, I've been looking to replace the M5 for quite some time, but never really came across anything worth it. Thanks to this thread I'm going to revisit the idea of a 991 VERY soon and most likely pick one up and then trade it in for the GT3 next summer/fall when there is available allocation.

Just one question. What's the best driver's car after a 911 before I make the plunge?

That's what I like about a car that you feel so connected. I miss my 'ol E36 M3. That car felt so amazing on canyon roads; not exaggerating, E36 M3 was nimble around the corner, and braking was precise (upgraded rotors and pads).

My E90 M3 feels so disconnect. Yes there is overwhelming power, but it is isolating. I can't put my finger on it. Is it the overbearing technology, the dash, the seats, the suspension-I don't quite get it.

When I drove my cousin's Cayman S, felt that sensation of being so much in control of car, from braking to handling. I took an on-ramp, a 90 degree positive band, with some mist on the surface, car was glued. That's a Porsche for you.

After a couple of months I finally pulled the trigger on an Agate Grey C4S. The difference in handling is insane. Can't wait for my commute to work tomorrow!
