What's the latest pricing on these plans.
I'm looking at the maintenance plan. My car is a 13 with 26k miles. Does the extended maintenance cover brake pads and wear and tear items like shocks, clutches and such? Does anyone have specific details on what is covered and what is not? Any help is appreciated

Great deal but likely because you had really low miles at purchase (8k). They probably think you are more likely reach the year limit before the mileage limit thus being less likely to use the warranty coverage.

My warranty is up in 10 days. I have 38k on a 2015 M5. I am not sure what I should do. Warranty, warranty and maintenance, or get a new car. I love the car, but the pricing seems excessive. Any new info on ext warranty deals?

Perhaps, I just made it to 10k miles on my car a couple of days back.

I think more people should consider the powertrain plus warranty instead of the platinum. It covers the most expensive portions of the car which is the powertrain (i.e. engine, transmission, etc) but not accessory things such as a/c, radio. Its considerably cheaper than the platinum plan and imo covers the items I would be most concerned about.

Reviving this thread...
Anyone get an extended warranty from BMW recently? Any pricing updates. I got one dealership out of Atlanta to quote the following Platinum Coverage 7/70k $5352 <--- seems really high to me Maintenance Plan $1700 for 1 year/75k miles, $3395 for 2 years/100k, $5022 for 3 years/125k Anyone get a better price or have a contact they can share? The price on the 7/70k is about right. 7/100k is about $6500 for Platinum coverage. The maintenance plan is a little high, I was quoted ~$1700 for 6/100k about a year and a half back. Also, take note that starting on Monday March 13th, BMW is changing the pricing scheme for their ESC contracts (BMW calls them Extended Service Contracts, not Extended Warranties). The difference between cost center and MSRP will go up by $250 and pricing will become two tiered. One price for vehicles between 1-20k and another price for vehicles between 20k-50k. |

So looking at a CPO m5 and they are stating that the cpo only covers the engine, transmission etc but none of the electronics in the car? Is this true?
If it is has anyone purchased an extended warranty to cover the electronics AC etc? Thanks |

I'm trying to see if I can come out ahead if I buy just a 1-year maintenance plan for my 2014 M6 GC.
I'm at 32k miles, but drive only 7k miles a year on the car. I calculated I can only come out ahead if I can ensure I do a complete brake job, 2 oil changes and spark plugs and/or rear diff fluid. My comparable pricing if I had to buy OEM parts and pay for labor myself: Full OEM brakes parts $1500 parts -($900 just for the front) OEM brake fluid $20 OEM rear diff fluid $40 OEM oil change kit: $100 each OEM plugs: $200 Indie labor to do it all (no labor on oil as I DIY): $500 According to this chart, I need my car to get up to 50k miles to get my diff fluid and plugs done. My rear brakes CBS says I still have 22k miles to go, 9k miles for my front brakes. So that means my base cost of doing it myself for next year is: $900 (front brakes) + $200 (oil x2 if I'm lucky) + brake fluid ($20) = $1100 in parts + $300 or so in labor. Considering 1 year plans are at least selling at $1700, it just won't work out for me. It'll be great if I can buy it for 1 year this time next year, b/c I'll have plugs, diff, and hopefully a full brake job. Anyways, this is how you should value these plans. For most people, it all hinders on whether you can do a complete brake job, not a partial brake job on the plan. Even better if your plugs and diff fluid is also scheduled in the same 1-year timeframe. Needless to say, BMW isn't in the business of losing money on these plans.

Has anyone bought a warranty plan recently? I have a 14 M5 with 23k on the clock. Just got lucky with the brakes and dealer replaced all 4 corners under warranty.. but it expires in July. They offered me a platinum at 10k. which I politely declined.. anyone have a connection for either aftermarket or BMW?
