Looks like this was answered with the A10 in the 2019 ZL1 1LE.

This is a very old thread but I test drove the car couple months ago. It's powerful and fast but does not have luxurious of M6/M5 even M4/M3

It should not compare in luxury. That’s not the car’s mission.

This has to be same urban legend from I think Kawasaki forum Good stuff I test drove the 2017 SS V8 6 speed not on same level as 1LE but it was great ride. I went with F80; I needed more out of the car than straight performance. If I had stacks like that I'd have the 1LE and some luxury car. |

Went through a week or two trying to convince my wife to consider this car as a replacement for her current m6. I frankly love the exterior looks and the interior at least in pictures looks good for me (for a car like this it doesn't bother me to not have for example leather dash or door card as that is not the mission of the car and it seems to have most or all of the few tech options I would care about). Unfortunately it was a no go for her, but I can't help to think this car has everything I would want for that purpose (meaning my wife would DD it and then I could use on weekends or evenings while still having my DD truck and weekend 911) - great looks, great driving dynamics, and absolutely #1 AMAZING SOUNDING OEM EXHAUST with valves. Of all the changes bmw has made over the past ten years the damn exhausts they put on their cars is going to be what finally pushes me over the edge. I will add one down side is the way the trunk is integrated vs the m6 or other past BMW coupes my wife has had would possibly make us unable to transport a few items we usually take on road trips however we have been using the truck more for that purpose anyway.
Still haven't quite given up hope but realize it's probably not going to happen as wife wants to stay with a more luxury oriented brand, but I can't help but to be in awe of how far Chevy and Ford have come in the past ten years. They make cars that are true contenders and deserving of consideration and comparison to the top of the line bmw and merc counterparts and that is something I would never have imagined saying years back.

So I've been in the market for an F10 M5 for a while now...I came from an E90 M3 and an E46 M3. I've never experienced anything as engaging as the e90 M3...that S65 is pure magic...Slicktop, 6 spd manual...the M3 is such a drivers car. Unfortunately, I "thought" I needed more space and the manual was a PITA to commute in traffic. I sold it and started looking for an M5. On a whim, I went to the chevy dealer to look at Vette's, which even with deep discounts are still pretty pricey. The salesman then said - "how about a camaro". I almost puked in my mouth. He asked me to hear him out, so I did. He showed me an SS 1LE (i.e. not a ZL1) and threw me the keys. Let me tell you - not since my e90 have I experienced anything that engaging. It was a freaking riot. It put a huge smile on my face. I came back the following day for another test drive, thinking maybe it was the "newness" talking. I took the car home for 2 hours. What an incredible drive. The car isn't without its flaws but it blows away anything on the F8x platform...I haven't drive them at their limits but just having fun on the street? The SS 1LE takes it. It's "easier" to have fun with. It inspires more confidence. It feels more planted and composed. Since then, I've done a ton of research and I'm just one of many that have "discovered" the SS 1LE. Yes, there are faster cars, yes the visibility sucks and yes it's still a Chevy...but all that said, it's a monster and so much fun to drive. If the dealership gets to where I need to be, money wise, I may just say screw the backseat and utility and buy a freaking camaro lol. Still, My ///M flag will hang proudly in the garage lol.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is not the alpha platform for the Camaro and ATS a reverse engineer job of the e39 5 series?
Anyway, I've heard the new Camaro is amazing. And naturally has had no success in today's market. |
