try as soon as you do your settings, start driving then turn off M mode. meaning go to regular driving mode. then start driving, try to press M mode whatever choice you press, see if it goes to the setting you chose, do that like 3x to see if it really saves the setting. and if it went on M mode those times. Turn car Off, Hold Clutch, Turn car On again and see if M mode saves. |

Curious what your reasoning is. I drive a m5 competition and I cant wait to trade it in for a m4 competition when it gets released. The m5 is just too big and heavy I miss that small sports car feeling I had from my e92.

Comfort wise, there is no contest. While you do get that "small sports car feeling," it's hard to extract in a daily driving situation. How often are you really pushing the car 9/10 on the street? Soft close doors, Bang & Olufsen, vented + massaging seats and that glorious TT V8 sound are hard to get away from. Track days call for the M4, but you'd be surprised how fun the M5 is to drive sideways. My recommendation to you is to 100% go for the carbon ceramics on the M4. This is where I skimped out on the M5, but lesson learned |

My lease on my F10 6MT is up. Went to the dealer to test the M4 DCT and a comp M5 DCT. Confirmed my despise for DCT so those were out. So on to the M3. The car definitely felt lighter but man....there is just no torque. I love the M3/4 looks but really wished it had the motor of the M5. So Im scouring for some available comp 6MT M5's for now. My issue is that I already spent the money on the lease so to buy essentially the same car doesn't make sense but it's really really hard to go backwards.

OR you don't want to get to F10 M5 > F8X M3/M4 > Miserable The F8X's are a great vehicle, but you will possibly miss the size, comfort, non-fazing stability at very high speeds, torque, and that monstrous V8. Good luck with your choice! Do come back and let us know which path you've chosen with pics!

I've had the M4 covet for three weeks now but only 400 miles.
Pros - smaller car easy to toss around - conv priceless with a hard top vs. my old six noisy - electronics are top notch - speed is surprisingly good - very comfortable full leather is good with deviated stitching - lines are great - good looker Cons - sound I have gotten use too no bother any more - V8 is sick no replacement unless Pani GTS - monster torque All in all I'm very satisfied and the GT3 is my itch reliever for crazy speed, but no one should ever compare the M5 vs. M4 two different cars with different missions. For a DD it dies what I need it to do well, and I don't want to pull into the office with a loud car so it works for me. Can't go wrong with either one. I wanted a convertible so this was my main driver only used the back seat less than 2 times a year sort made the 5 expendable along with the depreciation hit lurking. M4 was the last car that kept me to the M brand, and the Pani GTS was in the table but a refresh is coming so no go plus the vert made it a slam dunk. Couldnt do the jag didn't want two cats with no back seat in the high performance bracket. |

the m4 is definitly a nicer car than the m5 though. too bad they both sound like poop. i just got back into an amg after getting rid of my m5 and enjoy the throaty growl of the 5.5l V8 so much more than the M5's 4.4L V8. |
