A few tips that I always give people that ask me about taking better pictures:
1. Take the time to learn your equipment. The only way to learn it is by taking pictures. Pay special attention to aperture (f-stop), its the most key setting in any shot. Photography is nothing but capture of light, and the f-stop is the gateway to capturing that light.
2. The best camera is the one with you. I cant stress this enough. Ive taken shots that have been published in travel magazines with my iPhone.
3. Take multiple shots of the subject from slightly different angles. Use the best one with the best light.
4. There are only two times in the day that you should be taking photos - its called the Golden Hour, or Blue Hour. those are: dawn and sunset. You'll take million-dollar shots if you only take shots of anything at those times. Trust me.
5. Some of my fav processing apps for iOS are: Snapseed, Vscocam, Darkroom, CortexCam (for lowlight shots). Play around with them to learn them.
6. Pay close attention to compositions. Take shots of your car with minimal background to force more attention to the car / subject. Same rule applies to portraits.
7. Take lots of shots, use the best one. You think professional photographers dont take bad photos? Their trick is that you never get to see their bad shots. ;-)

These are good. The bottom one, I prefer to have the car angled up rather than down, so it looks like its taking off.

Looks good. I like the low angle to hide the busy background. Brings focus to the car that way. Im a sucker for symmetry so make sure you center your composition. :-)

- DSLR Canon 5D mark III & 135mm f2 lens
- Shooting low and across the street due to the focal length of the lens.

- Fuji X-T1 with 35mm f1.4 lens interior shot
- Shooting into the sun and letting the lens flare occur.

---

Some pics I took at Cars and Coffee San Francisco last month of a 675LT

- 5D Mark III & 24-70mm f/2.8 lens
- Putting together the same two concepts above, shoot low and into the sun. It gives you a stronger perspective and desaturated effect.

Lastly, good pics many times require post processing. Taking sharp, well exposed, and good composition is important, but being able to enhance them with restraint is key.

How? You mean with what camera? I have a lot of cameras but the ones that get the most use is a Nikon D800, iPhone 6SPlus, Hassleblad 503CM, and Leica M for my street photography. I have a little bit of a camera fetish. ;-)

More than the camera - invest in a good, fast, sharp lens. Its all about the glass at the end of the day.

Dude, I don't have great skill with cameras but I do know that 95 percent of the game is in the composition of the photos (versus how fancy the camera/lens). Took these today with my iPhone. It doesn't hurt to have such a photogenic subject.
God I love black.

(Having problems posting pictures.)
