The original EU5 Injectors (876) obviously could not be replaced with the original EU6 Injectors (956) as shown below. Yet, realoem reports the newer LCI EU6 Injectors (842) can be used instead of the previous EU5 Injectors. Is this a mistake on realoem as most have stated EU6 Injectors cannot be used to replace EU5 Injectors? |

I have friends who replaced their Injectors/HPFP to the newer versions.

With so much contradiction in the info, this is why this is so frustrating as one does not want to purchase injectors, install them, only to find out they would not work properly. |

I would note, if the EU6 were compatible, why would the 2014-2017 EU6 NOT be compatible Also other BMW Models EU5 and EU6 show they are all not compatible. So this single injector stands out which seems to make one wonder if it is a mistake? And with the M5 Injector issues, it seems this would be important to know. So again, thank you for Investigating. |

AFAIK, they replaced the EU5 to EU6. My contact is on leave and once he's back I'll make sure I'll bring this topic to his attention.

The question remains, can 2013 vehicles with EU5 injectors use the newer EU6 Injectors as realoem seems to indicate on the 4/05 post above |

I was having misfires so had coils and plugs replaced. Still happened so got a quite from dealer... $570CAD each. Called bmw parts and was told that if I replaced ALL 6, I could go EU6 or EU5. Got a smoking deal for EU6 so got and had BMW install them. Car is having mixture lean codes and rough idle when starting. New MAF and they JUST replaced the valve cover as they suspected a leak... car is still coding lean. After reading around I'm wondering if the parts guy was wrong and I should have stuck with EU5 injectors.

You need to stay with the EU5 if that's what the car had in it originally. Your symptoms are exactly the reason why.
Circling back to the original intention of this post, I replaced all 8 injectors (2013 car, EU5 injectors) at 70k miles and as preventative maintenance. After removal and inspection, there were no obvious signs of leaking. I also replaced the MAF's at the same time so I can't say with certainty which parts were getting tired, but the car's driveability improved after the work. |

I would say that would be imperative to check the part number on the ones being replaced keeping in mind that part numbers can be 'upgraded' for exactly the same part.
