Yes I am no mechanical pro, but realized it was not... I corrected myself...

If true...now that would be impressive. It will need a lot more that engine internals beefed up to handle that power.

1,000 crank would be impressive but I have little doubt this motor can develop it..Now 1,000 wheel? That would be insane. Awesome build IND+AMS

I wonder how long this project will take.
I imagine the engine will have to be built and obviously the turbos will be thrown away.

With that being said, a few clarifying statements:

-The above is only a preliminary impression. More analysis is necessary before we can make specific statements.

-BMW has done an excellent job in engineering the drivetrain around their target power level. The S63tu engine is incredibly capable and seems to be extremely robust when used as BMW intended i.e. when making the original ~530 wheel horsepower, or even 100-200 horsepower above factory. I believe that M5 owners will enjoy excellent longevity and that the S63tu will prove to be a very robust power unit.

-Our goal is to exceed the 1,000 horsepower mark, so when we consider the strength of components we are looking at power outputs well beyond what the factory intended. We hope to find the ultimate weak points of the S63tu, so that M5 owners do not have to.
Impressive!
I have a question you guys surely can answer.
Does the M5/M6's engine really make 530 whp Stock? Or around 620 HP on crank (w/ 15% drivetrain lost)? Are you guys going to crank dyno it?

If true that is already an achievement right there.

I'm not surprised to say the least and this is expected from the IND crew ! Excellent work Ilia I'm sure the goal will be met and exceeded with AMS in the mix.

Ilia expect a call from me and my buddy Greg "Timberwolf" for some goodies for his new MCB M5 which is currently at sea .

He's aware of all the great things you did for all my 3 M's and is excited for you to give him the same treatment. Minus the lap dances hahah j/k

Heck I feel an itch coming on ....... Damn M5 bug

Our own F10 M5 made 527 wheel horsepower on 93 octane in completely factory form, seen here:

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthr...light=IND+Dyno

I believe that most folks who have tested their F10 M5 cars on a dynojet are seeing somewhere in the neighborhood of 520~530 wheel horsepower.

Thanks for the kind words! It was a pleasure to help with your trio of M3s, and I think your latest M might be my favorite, but something tells me you've caught the M5 bug also.

Having an F10 M5 I will tell you that putting that power to the ground is near impossible. The car already looses traction stock in first or second from a roll. This is why AMG had to go all wheels drive for their new 2014 E63S.
