My uncle just bought an M5 from 2013.
The original owner chose to "delete" the badge. It looks better WITH the badge imo. Could someone tell me what the measurements for the correct position are ? Google has let me down on this ... Thanks in advance |

Great DIY. I did mine today in less than 20min. I did 2 things different.
First I applied painters tape on all 4 sides of the original badge. This gives a little better image of where the new badge goes. Secondly, I did not like the thought of applying the badge pieces on separately. One little slip and the job is a total failure. Putting on 2 pieces doubles the risk. So I took the M and the 6 (in my case) of the badge while they were still on the wax paper (as shipped by IND and spaced properly) and applied painters tape on top of the pieces. I made sure not to tape over their edges (so I could still see the edges). I then took a pencil and laid it lengthwise on top of the badge. Next I taped the pencil to the tape that I had just put on top of the pieces. Again I made sure I did not cover the edge of the pieces with tape. By doing this I could grab onto the pencil and use it as a handle for both pieces that remained properly spaced at the same time. I then removed the wax paper covering the sticky tape on the rear of the pieces. Using the pencil I could pickup the badge in one piece, line it up, and apply both pieces to the car at the same time. A perfect outcome. |

Line it up and place it right.
In my situation the alignment from IND was like 2mm to wide. So I take the individual pieces off and placed them one by one. Measured Attack Clean glue residu Almost there Nice !

Not sure what I did wrong, but I had a tough time removing my badge and even more problems removing the adhesive left behind. The badge came off and left almost all of the adhesive on the car. The hairdryer and goo-gone just caused the painters tape to peel off ruin my template. Plus it was probably 105 degrees in my garage.
If I stare at it long enough, I can convince myself is crooked... I guess I just wont look at it. Still a well done product from IND.

I replaced the chrome with gloss black one by simply pulling of with fingernails after sun softened the goo, then a good clean with alcohol and you can still see the M5 outline.Line up new one carefully and a good press.Trouble is I put my chrome one somewhere and can't find it!

I recommend this one. The "Competition" part of the emblem goes on separately so its optional.
