This is his garage BTW. I don't think he's shopping for a TTS or a S63 to do a 40mile commute. I mean if you have loads of money to burn, why not spend it on a condo closer to your office? A 5 mile commute is the luxury a man of means would want.

Crazy. I check in and see this S63 thread at the top. I know Stealth already called BS, but my question is legit.

The lease on my C2S is up in a month. I've been out looking for sport sedans, tried the S8, RS7, and S6. Liked the S6 best- didn't expect that.... Went and drove the E Class, and the S550- one was too hot, one too cold. The S class was awesome though with the 3D system. They tried to get me to test drive an S65, but I drew the line.

Anyhooooo, the MBZ guys called today and told me they took an S63 on trade over the weekend. 8K miles "fully loaded".

I have an S6 on order, but I'll probably check it out. Will let you know how it goes. If anyone has a POV on market price (Vic), I'm all ears.

Your sig says you have a C2S and an M5. That's a nice garage.

If the C2S lease is up, If I were in your place, I wouldn't get the S6 because that puts two mid size sport sedans in the garage. If you really want a second 4 door car then take a look at the Mercedes C63S. The C63 is a really nice sports sedan, lots of power, great engine, light and tossable, and a much nicer interior than the Audi. It is a bit small on the inside, but a lot more spacious than the Porsche. And you can really luxe it up with designo if you want.

On the other hand if you want something big, then the S63 is great. S6 is a solid car too.

I have two close friends with S63's (new models) that I have driven enough- both are tuned, lowered slightly and roll HRE's. They look incredible and the interior is awesome. The room in the back, as expected, ample in all forms with rear sunroof controls, tilting seats, cooled seats, heated seats and so much more. I love the giant center TFT screen for radio and NAV review. The car actually moves too with AWD and a tune its pushing 650 bhp and the tq is off the charts- It romps from zero to 60 very fast and I enjoy driving them. Yes it will not be the fastest car out there in higher speed runs but it looks great and makes one feel great INSIDE the cabin too.

Ive owned 3 M157 AMG cars and the engine is intense and bulletproof. The growl and power that comes from it is strong even in today's world. The one issue with the M157's I had was the MCT transmission. Its not efficient and can be irritating at times in stock TCU set up. I tuned all my cars and the tranny definitely communicated better with my inputs. The MCT is good for heavy tq rated cars and is a great tranny when mods are installed like downpipes and tune. You can get around the small dissatisfaction it creates, like I said, with a tune. Ive had 5 MCT's so Ive got a lot of experience there.

These are the only numbers Ill go into (not personally related but more market indicative):

If the car had an msrp of 161 then there is 12% from msrp to triple net of holdback in the car (dealer cost). Remember dealer cost is NOT invoice. Invoice is about 6% from msrp. So that car cost the store circa 142k back in the day unless they floored and are probably hitting curtailment payments since it hasn't been sold in over a year or more. That car just based on age and market is worth much less especially at the wholesale level. I think you can get it for 130 if you push but its worth less than that.
Thanks vic your advice always is appreciated

MY dad had a 2013 S63 bought new, and in 2 years drove it 60K plus. Air suspension started to lose air, lights come on and is something that these cars are weak on. Expensive fix to say the least. Common problem with the S63. I had the same issue with my AMG E63 after it accumulated lots of mileage after 2 shorts years. Air suspension started to sag, tires had too much negative camber and MBZ wouldn't fix it. Sold the car.

Short term wise, the AMG's are great. Long term wise, pass on them.

I bought a 2015 MBZ S550 brand new and I lemoned it 3 months later. Had severe brake issues that cause the brake to warp 3 times in 1000 miles. I'm not the only one having them as many others are building a case towards MBZ.
Yea i was lurking around the MBWorld nobody has really said anything about the W222 but first hand experience is always. Thank you sir fro your advice.

I probably won't be tuning keeping stock because I will end purchasing extended warranty.

Especially when your buying this car.

I mean 150 x 5 x 4 x 12.
Thats 36k a year and only if your driving to work and back... thats crazy.

I went out and bought a Lexus ct hybrid Fsport that I drive around to keep all my cars values up. Paid 27k otd for it has a bumper to bumper UNLIMITED MILE warranty til 2025.
Thats what you need if you drive the way you do.

IDK man, honestly the S63 AMG is awesome... not my 1st choice.. but if you plan to drive it like that, its not worth it.
Yea I know, I will be keeping the LX either way so miles will be divided up, I'll probably drive it a lot initially though.

I did test drive it, and I love it thats why I'm contemplating. I don't believe in drawing conclusions about someone without even meeting them but thats okay everybody is different. As far as the commute goes I dont commute with traffic I commute against traffic, I live in Ruby Hills and I commute to the central valley where there is no luxury housing, and I prefer the environment and temperament in the Bay more so than the valley. My commute takes me 1 hour not 2.5:thumbs:, so theres obviously a difference. I'm in the transportation business I need acreage not square footage. My office facility has to be combined with my yard or else its like you are doing business blind. No transportation company has a separate office and yard facilities its not practical, or else I would've have had an office near my house ages ago.

New Tesla has that auto pilot might be a good fit. Hybrid, Auto-Pilot and 0-60 in 2.9. If its 150 miles round trip you are at half tank...I mean charge. Plus fuel savings would be high.

Just picked this up Friday. 2015 MB Corp demo, never titled. 8,300 miles.

Anthracite Blue
Porcelain Interior, extended leather with the carbon fiber package. Great contrast. Never would have thought to order this interior, but it really looks good.
Burmester 3D-->Freaking Awesome!
Drives assistance package- by the end of day one I had this fully turned on. Easy to get distracted in this car.
luxury back seats, night vision, etc..- basically came with all the dumb shit I wouldn't have ordered. No ceramics though.

$173K MSRP, paid $123K

50k depreciation for a 2015 with 8300 mile on the clock is horrible... I mean you got a great deal... congrats!

Your car is totally gorgeous! I would have been very tempted too at this price. The dark blue paint with the two-tone black/porcelain leather is simply stunning.

Only curious if you are solely basing your opinion off sticker price alone? Or have you owned one? Spent some time in one?

Thanks man.

I bought it from Euro Motorcars in Bethesda. I spent a couple months watching Autotrader, and had narrowed in on 3 options with this car being one of them. I almost eliminated it because of the "white" interior, but a friend had porcelain and told me it was the best interior he'd ever seen. That's literally all I was going on.

Bought the car a couple weeks ago, and was going to have it shipped. Was over in London last week, and decided to just fly back to DC and pick it up myself. Drove down and met up with the family in Ashville for the weekend, and made the final leg back to the ATL last Sunday.

Do you have a recommendation on tint (person and product) in ATL?

Ok. Question - Why did you put the word "buy" in all caps?

ok let me rephrase, it has to be one of the worst cars to BUY brand new.

if you need clarification on why, it's really not worth explaining.

Congrats. Also have a S63/65 in my stable, just in different states.

The 63 is a better car period. Takes a little getting used to the 4WD. Transmission is not nearly as great as the M5, but it's a comfortable cruiser especially if you have a 70mi / 1-2hr daily commute.

The 3D Burm system is very nice, but I find that it doesn't thump like the M5's B&O, which IMO is the best sounding factory sound system I have heard in a car to date. The Burm sure does look nice though, and still sounds very good.

Yes I do. For window tint, I think Oasis tinting is the place. They are colocated with cartunes I think.
