A 2014 with 29K Miles? It might be that your M6 probably had a lot more miles than expected. Nowadays you have to be extremely careful because there are some real shady people out here trying stop their mileage in order to sell their vehicle for top dollar.

Bought it from a guy in his 40s who had a decent collection of cars in his hangar with a plane connected to his house in a small town. I doubt the cluster was filtered. Car still smelled new when I bought it with 22k miles. Many ways to tell if a car been filtered.

I used Pure Performance out of Houston, TX. I shipped the whole car there. A touch under 14k including shipping. I flew out and drove the car home to Tennessee. Check them out on Facebook and the web. They do lots of S63 motors. Mine has over 20k miles since the rebuild and is very happy. I drive her a tone. Did 1800 miles in October and have a trip to upper Michigan coming up so November will be another over 1500 mile month. Car is BM3 stage 1 93 Oct before and after she spun the 4/8 rods due to a failed injector. I did do new injectors at the time of the rebuild.

I highly doubt 5w 30 blew his motor dude. And anyway, you're just purely speculating. Yes 5w30 doesn't have the sheering protection like 5w40 but 2 track days at 20k miles wouldn't blow the motor. If anything, i would blame the tune just like op said. Also, from what I've seen, most blown motors have been on 5w 40. I think it's safe to say I'm never getting a tune lol Last edited by danielgmanm6; 03-02-2023 at 10:06 PM.. Reason: Misspell |

I just had a BM3 tune installed last month on my 2020 M5 with less than 15,000 miles and 5 days later on my way to my little girl’s basketball game my engine went out exactly as the OP describes. It’s been nearly 4 weeks and still in the local BM3 affiliate shop. No update yet. For the first year owning the car I used the BMS JB4 on Map 2 with no problem, ran mid-10’s with ease repeatedly using VP MS109… I tried BM3 hoping to get closer to 10 flat. Only other mods on car were race DP’s… everything else stock and by the books.
Edit… ok fine I have a carbon fiber hood and the cooler NGK plugs everyone recommends. Last edited by bmeaggie; 07-10-2023 at 05:42 PM.. Reason: Added detail |

Any update? Most likely culprit could be the tune. Im running stage 2 tune. I’ve ran it hard on cross country drives OH to DC area. I have Catless DP’s, tune, intake, NGK colder plugs, and run 5w-40 Leichtlauf Liqui Moly. The 5w-40 works better for me. I don’t burn oil unless running car at WOT a lot. Track days are hard on cars, however the car should been fine for several tracks days. Please update after things get checked out. Also sorry for the current situation.
I had an e92 M3 SC before, I did rod bearings in that and black stone oil analysis regularly. The bearings at 90K had some Babbitt. Changed to BE bearings and ARP rod bolts. I have done analysis on the F13 also, the results came back good. Also, did bearings on e92 bc of increase in lead levels after SC.
