I would like this,...except that I have a front plate mounted,...I wonder if the dealer made holes in the front of the bumper or below the bumper!

Probably on the front of the bumper. The diagram for the plate installation calls for drilling two holes on the bumper to mount the bracket. BMW gives exact dimensions for where to drill the holes.
