So I dropped by the Austin Ferrari dealer and they had a 14 Cali with only 1500 miles on it in red with black and red trimmed interior. It has the built in K40 radar detector and the Ferrari sport exhaust which sounds awesome. He has a T and it's $289,000 sticker but I don't know how much he will negotiate. He is going to price the red 14 at $195k which seems good for the way it's optioned and the extras it already has. I liked the way it drove but it seems slow compared to he Turbo cars. It's a little soft but I liked the seat and the steering wheel. It's a really good looking car. Still, he has a T and he says he will probably start getting the used ones in about 6 months since he says they moved their first ones just about a year ago. Of course he agreed, the 458 is the car that the enthusiast is going to want.

There is a COTA event Sunday that I signed up for so I am going to track the 991tts for the first time and who knows, maybe the last. Guess we will see. My Porsche sales guy forwarded my info to his counterpart at Mercedes so I should be hearing back on the GTS soon. He told me they would give me a good trade on my 991tts since they are owned by the same people.

It's about 4 years Acura has been talking about NSX. The first time was 2012 NSX LOL

If the new nsx is anything like their 2015 F1 challenger, u are gonna need an engine replacement every week.

Yeah, I too hope the NSX will be released one of these years, been forever since we've waited.

wrsbmw are you also considering the GT3 or the GT3RS? I think other than those, the 458/488 and the upcoming R8 seem like the most exciting cars in that segment. When they release the AMG GTS black edition, now that will be something.

Dude, wait for the 2016 Audi R8 to come out and then modify the exhaust to sound exactly like the new R8 GT3. Win!

Also don't forget to add the spoiler.

My favorite is at 1:22s.

Probably not since I like the Turbo S better in general. I think the GT3RS looked really good in the video that was posted here but it's essentially a weekend car for the track. Now that I found this edge addict group that has several COTA track days a year that type of car could be a possibility. However, I think if that is what I was going to get a car for, I would most likely do the 458 and go for the whole enchilada. There are a lot of them available and I could do as early as a 2012 and not lose anything.

I will get a good feel for how the TTS does at the track on Sunday. I am a novice with that but people say it's pretty good and I can push it into the turns on some of the roads around here without any risk at much higher speeds than I ever tried with the M5 not that the M5 is much of a comparison there.

To be honest with you @200k I will go with McLaren 570s even if the depreciation is horrible... at least that's the real race car manufactured by a F1 manufacturer and looks "fantastic"... I'm waiting for this car as the replacement or stable mate of M6 if possible ....But it depends on people. You and I want to drive the car for years and enjoy them so 570s is the right one. If someone wants to get the car and keep it for couple months and get rid of it (""" ADD stuff """) then GT3 RS or R8 GT3 (lol) is the right one

The TTS is not exactly the car to have on track. While its AWD allows u great traction out of corners and generally saving your ass from major calamity, it's rather dull and not brimming with feel. That's according to many seasoned tracksters and enthusiasts who generally prefer the GT3s for that. A Cayman GTS might be more fun on the track than the TTS, though slightly slower. NA cars are heck of a lot more fun to have on the track!

This is exactly my discussion with ColdList year ago ... AWD is not as fun as RWD at all...BTW, where is he??? Still I want to read his review comparing 650s with Huracan

Your chance of reading abt that from Vic is much higher. The man is fast running out of cars to buy soon and might be "forced" to buy a 650S Besides, Vic is more all rounded with cars and his reviews have always been comprehensive. Cold just like to go really fast in the straight line and hanging out with those dude waiters at hooters.

LOL...true... but the chance that Vic is getting (or be forced to get) 650s is too low... He is not fan of Mac... He is P/F-car guy

I get the impression that Vic is very open minded abt cars, so maybe there's still chance chance...

What about you? I know Speciale is a KING (yet not as KING as KING ), but what's you next exotic car? knowing you are not fan of heavy Aventador (or maybe AWD Huracan ), there are no few options out there for you unless you are looking for LaFerrari

I think the only step up from a Speciale is a LaFerrari. Lol!

Then again, there is the M4.

I would get the brake fluid replaced with a very high quality DOT 4 brake fluid such as Castrol SRF; (there's none better), and also have your local Porsche dealership, or even better a local 'speed shop' that works on Porsches, to give you a track alignment.

TT's can be made to go around a road course very fast despite their AWD nature, especially when certain suspension mods are done. As a novice you don't need that, BUT getting a good track alignment; (it doesn't have to be drastic btw), is an excellent place to start.

Also, put some higher octane unleaded into the car at the track. Arrive with no more than 1/2 tank of 93 octane IF you have it locally and then fill up with 100 octane Sunoco unleaded. It's worth the money.

Cinch yourself tightly into your seat by moving the seat bottom rearward about two inches and slightly reclining the seat back. Then pull the seat belt ALL the way out so that when it retracts it locks. Manually pull it back into the reel so its tight on you, then move the seat back forward until its tight on your chest and then move the seat cushion forward to your normal position. This is the best (only?) way to be held tightly by the OEM seat belts and will make you feel much more comfortable in the car as you won't move around so much.

Drink water and gatorade constantly; if you're not peeing before every run session and in-between, you aren't drinking enough.

Relax, pay attention to your instructor, and have fun.

Bish

Quite honestly, the Speciale makes me loose the urge to buy most other cars at the higher echelon. I love driver's cars and don't care too much abt straight line speed or numbers. I am more likely to buy a lesser performing driver's car that can be enjoyed more readily. A pdk Cayman GT4 would be nice shd they decide to produce it. The limits of the Speciale is way beyond daily use and would be grossly irresponsible for me to deploy them on public roads here not to mention the severe legal consequences. Only a long drive to the famed Sepang track in Malaysia or their B roads can one really enjoy the car to its fullest.

The other factor is of course, cost. With the Speciale (or equivalent) costing me a million USD, one needs to think twice b4 buying anything. Buy one of those and sell it right the next day, one will loose anything between 100-150k, so u jolly well think thrice b4 signing up. Even billionaires dun flip cars here. The government has also instituted strict borrowing rules. Only a Max of 50% loan up to 5 years is allowed here.

LaF is way out of my league. Only billionaires own them here and being left hooker, the car can never be driven here

William go on our crew chat and talk to Ted. He just bought a 458 and loves it. That will be another opinion for you.

Now the up/down shifts in Dave's vid are crazy fast and sound badazz. That r8 is the tits!

Yeah in another 4 years maybe we'll have our first C&D review and another 4 we'll get to drive should be a good 2023.
