Although it would serve to reason that this would have the active side bolsters (or at least adjustable) like the ones on the E60. Not sure if the E9X has those so please don't bite my head off. So it could just be that the last driver didn't have them like one would expect. OR maybe the F10 has a system that reduces the bolster size for entry/exit of the vehicle which would also mean its at it's lowest point when the car is off (kind of like with power tilt/teloscopic steering). Just a thought though. |

The US Specifcation M5 showcases the production wheels for the new M5.
M5 begins photography tomorrow in the mountain regions of Spain. The five spoke wheels will be available as an option as shown on this prototype.

Car looks phenomenal. Can't wait to see people start modding these things.
This REALLY makes the E60 look outdated in my opinion. |

The interior looks much better than the prototype's and I don't think these are the final side vents; the final version of side vents will definitely be different.
I wonder if there will be any final pics out before the Frankfurt launch?! |

After another look at those pics with the black m5 i do think that that kind of chrome side vents might be an option since the car already has a chrome trim around the windows. Maybe this will be an alternative to the shadowline trim...

yummmm...
I think the f10's dominating front grilles are somewhat balanced by the openings in the M bumper, as opposed to the other 5s where they're too much imo...maybe the front will grow on me in a while |

can't wait to see the go after all this show... That's where true beauty lies for me. Don't think my e90 would be nearly as dope "looking" if i didn't know how awesome it was to drive

Not a huge fan of the side grille, but I wasn't a fan of the e90 when it came out..and I ended up loving/leasing it a few months later!
This M5 looks beautiful, and I'll take two - ty.

E9X does have adjustable side bolsters, although they are not the active like the E60 M5.

I have been comparing these pics of the F10 in SSII (Silverstone II) to similar pics I have of my E90 M3 in SSII and the proportions of the wheel arches in the quarter panels appear very similar from the same angles. That is very encouraging to me as I love the looks/proportions of the E90 M3. I think the F10 will look pretty mean in the flesh and suspect it will look even more aggressive than the E90 from the front given the extra width of the base car plus the added track and wheel arches for the M5, resulting in a lower height to width ratio plus the big wheel arches.
