I really like the red CF they do for the RS6-R, but that may not be to your taste (that is, the red CF, not the RS6).

And yes - agree that the modified S7 doesn't look bad *at that angle* ... then again, IMHO it does make the E63 wagon look dated - anyhow I'll leave the fickle comments there
Hey I just saw this, thanks!!!! Now Im gonna get an RS7

Its funny you say that cause I find the rear end very off as well but then I saw three S7's yesterday (2 in white) and the rear is much easier on the eyes in person.

Im still waiting to test drive a non air RS7 to see how it handles. I drove the air suspension version and yes its fast and yes it sounds good but....
I saw one in person yesterday for the first time at the Atlanta International Auto Show. It was in this stunning deep blue. I have to tell you, it was easily one of my top 3 cars there, if not my favorite (excluding the Aventador and McClaren). The rear end really looked hot in person, as did the front and the interior. It was sitting next to an R8 and it made that car look very plain. I would choose this car over a GC in a second.

Interesting.... I find the pictures on the net to be not so complimentary to the RS7 or S7 but in person (I mentioned earlier) I feel the same way. Again, I need to drive the car with the dynamic suspension and not that piggy air thing.

Seriously you think an RS7 makes an R8 "look plain"? Were your glasses dirty? lol

Agreed 100%. Seeing the car in pictures I found it very plain. Maybe it was that color that did it but the car was very sexy in person. I have yet to drive one.

I drove both an air and spring car today. The spring car is definitely more stable and rough vs the air car. The roads where the dealer was are not that great but I took the exact same routes for both cars and was able to take tight and higher speed turns. The air car definitely is more fluffy and has roll, as expected for a 4600 lb car but its still a great highway cruiser. The spring car had very limited lean in the same turns and I found myself pushing the car with more speed. One thing that's prevalent is moderate understeer but one can get out of this via the throttle and when I did this I had rather solid confidence. In the past when Ive driven other cars with understeer and used the throttle the confidence wasn't as apparent. Who knows as it was just two 6 mile test drives but the car sure does move and the throttle is very responsive in dynamic mode. The car just launches incredibly too; basically mash and go. The exhaust has a good burble and pop on down shifts too.

Who knows maybe its for me for a short period of time. I need to figure it out.

Thanks for the ride report, I'm sure the spring car would be my choice. Did you sample the rear seat knee room and head room? It looks like it is similar to the BMW Grand Coupe for the back seat, and I find the head room in that not quite adequate for my six feet even.

No, sorry I didn't check the rear seats. The front has ample room and trunk is ridiculous in size. Its a big car with a big car feel. Ive never drive the GC to compare its feel. My experience with the latest BMWs is ownership of the F10 M5 and F13 M6.

Nope. For real. It was a brand new red R8 V10 convertible. Side by side the RS7 was the standout, no question. The R8 looked more like the "has been" where the RS7 had a very modern, cutting-edge look. The rear taillights, the silver brake vents and the deviated stitched interior really popped.

Interesting. I didn't know there were both types of suspension. It might be a very cool car to own for a while. I'll need to drive one myself. What I do like is the apparent ability to tune this car.

Yeah, see that's surprising too. The top has the typical "saggy" spots like most cabs. My TTS has the magnesium inserts so it perfectly retains the lines of the coupe with the top up. Perhaps I'm spoiled.

I think you'd change your mind about the RS7 in person. The car was a stunner. Honestly, I didn't expect it to look so good myself. I had only seen in pictures and it always looked sort of "flat".

The R8 spyder is cool from a few angles which cold didn't show. I like the rear deck lid when the top is down; it runs a rows of vents and is long and flat. But yes the R8 from angles doesn't hit- no different than the RS7.

the car drove in dynamic mode like the throttle had a mini tune LOL. One thing I forgot to mention was smoothness and quickness of the ZF tranny. Definitely was the best non DCT tranny coupled with software that I experienced. In D mode the car stays in gear like a mini sport plus mode (in our TT's).

Drive it but make sure you are in Dynamic mode.

Agree Vic hands down R8 is sexy, and the lines are great with the top down. The only thing with the R8 it's shelf life is limited now, and a new build should be in the hopper.

Member Kiku at Audizine ran his RS7 with an APR tune only (93 octane)... not bad.
