I want to thank all who contribute their knowledge and experience to this forum. Yesterday I did my first oil change since owning the car...could not have been much easier. I also changed the plugs which had 25K miles on the set. For anyone contemplating this DIY, I found the most challenging part of the job was figuring out how to disconnect the six DME connectors on each side of the engine. Disconnecting the harness from the DME is the only way to access the coil packs and pull them out which allows access to the plugs.

The job took me 3 hours, but I spent an hour trying to figure out how to remove the three different types of DME connectors and then getting the DME and harness out of the way. Also know that the DMEs do not come out because there are coolant lines attached. Rather, you will have to move the DMEs out of the way and work around them even after you disconnect the harness. The only special tool needed is a thin walled 14 mm spark plug socket. My car is stock so I left the plug gap at .028" which is how they came out of the box.

Advice to anyone doing this for the first time...
  1. Read the thread in the DIY section and take a look at youtube
  2. Have patience while figuring out how to disconnect the harness connections to the DME
  3. Be prepared to wrestle with the DME on each side when changing the two rear plugs

Well done for tackling that yourself ,I may try to replace the plugs myself when the time comes but as far as oil change goes I'll let the dealer get under the car for that!
How is your brake disc claim with the shop going, any progress?

Really appreciate you posting and sharing your thoughts. Both of these jobs (plugs + oil) are in the near future for my car.

Weekend project has arrived. RW Carbon lip...

The box and I are the same height so hopefully my wife doesn't get any ideas to bury me in it.

Looks great! I have a few more rounds of maintenance things to get to before going for a few tasteful aesthetic mods like this. Where did you get the trunk badge from? I'm assuming IND based on the box placement...My car is a Comp Pack as well; 2015.
