Please, tell us more about the Idrive retrofit? Is it done at the dealership? How much?

Depending on which year and headunit your car has will determine, how much the retrofit will run you. Some cars only need coding while others may need a headunit and additional adapters, I would say anywhere between $1k-$2k cost for this retrofit depending on what has to be done. Couldn't be happier with the results. |

put h&r 15mm on the rear.
i tried 12mm, but not aggressive enough and just under flush. also tried 10mm on front, but looked horrible, like a monster truck. looked wider in the front than back. i do not recommend |

Bootmod3 - OTS 93 octane Stage 2 map (the one without the low torque setting) via laptop, then customized the map to turn off the CEL, disable cold start, ASD off, sport exhaust valve to open & reduced boost in first and second gears via the WiFi agent. What a convenient setup!

My dress/work shoe (right foot) was being messed up due to the constant friction so I bought some dedicated driving shoes that I'll leave in the car.

So you ended up doing 15mm rear and stock front? Happy with this setup? This is next on my list.

Purchased from JBSpeed (link below). The grills will come with an M5 logo in the box. It's mounted on a black plastic block with double-sided tape already on it. Took 2 mins to tape in place. http://www.jbspeed.com/bmw-dual-slat...ing-worldwide/

and they also sell the extended length bolts (which are absolutely necessary) i bought a pair of 10mm, 12mm, and 15mm bc i didnt know what i would like with all the differing opinions and advice on here. i did 12mm in the rear first and thought it looked good and flush but after looking at it for a few days, i could tell it still set in the fender a tad so i put 15mm on the rear and it is what i wanted. aggressive but not poking out the fender. i call it flush then just out of curiosity i put 10mm on the front bc a few guys on here are very proud of that setup so i put them on, and i thought i would vomit. looks like its trying to be a monster truck or something and no matter what angle you look at it from, it looks like the front axle is considerably wider than the rear (even with 15mm on the rear) i left them on overnight just to see how i'd feel in the morning to be certain, i pulled them off the next morning lol highly recommend no spacer at all on the front and 12 or 15mm on the rear these guys putting spacers on the front have unique taste, ill just say that(but i could be wrong because i am not lowered, but i dont think that will change the visual effect i perceived that the front spacers made in conjunction with the rear axle) Last edited by BeachM5nster; 08-04-2019 at 03:04 PM.. |
