Agree, not even for an M2 or M4 GTS, or even that new M2 CS coming out. I'm still proud of the fact that I got my F10 17% off MSRP before it was even available in the United States yet as the next generation M5 at that time.

I like the Matte Paint, Alcantara Steering Wheel, floor mats, and Yellow Stitching all over the cabin that the Edition 1 comes with. Does the USA get those awesome looking front seats too?! Those seats look like they have a hell of a lot of bolstering.

Neither! Lol! I don't work at BMW anymore. That was a short gig to hold me over until I got my next professional career kicked off.
But yeah, I am slowly becoming an AMG fan after all of the disappointments M Division has been releasing lately.

Drive it first, your opinion in regards to YOUR purchase is all that should matter. Who knows, you may not like the bolsters enough

It is a pig, I did not enjoy handling even compared with stock non competition M5 and I of course dont even need to mention AMG GTs handling. Also i did not feel car being 3.Xs 0-100 fast. I am well disappointed with the car. I had WOW factor jumping in the car in the morning and was happy to hand keys back. It did not feel fast whatsoever. Also seats are extremely comfy and soft, but they do not hold you in like M5 M-Multifunctional Seats do. You get wobbled around left and right. Only part i enjoyed was going sideways with shitloads of smoke! Nonetheless I am still willing to buy E43 or E300 with AMG styling and fully loaded interior for daily and upgrade my beast to F90 once LCI is out. This is the perfect car if you can have 1 car only, you have proper winter with snow falls and shitloads of traffic. |

While I agree that the AMG 4MATIC+ is similar technically to the Porsche system in that it can send 100% of the torque to any wheel, there are 2 key differences: 1) Programming where I believe the Porsche system is designed to react quicker 2) Porsche combines the AWD with four wheel steering which makes a massive difference to handling, lateral grip and creating a small car feel in a larger car. BTW don't think I am anti-AMG. I have an AMG GLC63S Coupe on order and that car uses the same 4MATIC+ system as the E63S. I would have bought the E63S but my wife prefers an SUV ?

That is possibly why the pilot from the Aussie magazine and Suttcliffe complained that although the E63 is great underpower, there is a slight mid-corner understeer (something that doesn't happen in the Porsche). Nevertheless I do believe the 4WD programming in the E63 is excellent given it is a 2 ton animal with 600hp. Btw nice choice on the GLC 63. The other car I drove on the AMG day here was the GLC43. Very nice car as well (completely murders the X4 on all levels). I would own one in a hearbeat. |

I drive a M6 GC daily, and the E 63 felt quicker. I didn't drive it for hours so I can't attain to the overheating problem. Nevertheless the E 63 was driven hard for an entire day on the AMG Driving Tour, and it only cut power from overheating once. I drove it for a total of 6 laps, (3 sessions of 2 laps) with different settings, one in Sport, the other in Sport Plus, and lastly in Race. I also find it odd the remark regarding the transmission gear change time. I am not saying it is as fast as M-DCT, but it is pretty quick, in fact my company car is a Passat 2.0 TSI with a DSG box, and I can easily say that the 9 speed MCT is quicker than DSG, which is a very quick double clutch. The pig handling I can understand that it feels like a heavy car, but my M6 also feels like a pretty heavy beast. I can understand the fact that you possibly found the E63 had more understeer when the gas pedal is mashed mid-corner if compared to the M5, but the rest of the remarks differ severely from my experience. Nevertheless you had quite a lot more sitting time, and you are a more experience track driver than I am. It will be interesting to see the response from more people to get the general consensus from everyone that has driven the car. My daily commuter and its amazing fuel consumption lol Last edited by CarlosM4; 07-07-2017 at 10:37 AM.. |

Ill finally get to drive one at the end of this month or the start of August stateside. I have a few MBZ contacts so I should get a decent amount of time behind the wheel like I was afforded with the C63S and GTS.

Wow, that's quite some difference in experiences. The plot thickens. Chris Harris seemed to not have the same complaints about overheating and slow shifting.

Who knows the dynamics behind his test run(s). He might have had the car for a long period and run it hard with gaps in time between. There are too many variables there. Lets face it, the F10 M5 cooling system sucks and I would pull timing after 3 hard runs with just a basic bench flash.

Have never driven this car but from the Video I have a feeling it's a heavy and understeer car .... I don't know maybe I'm wrong or maybe that's the way it looks when the car is AWD.... however it's obvious this car is not designed for racetrack but anyways when someone buy an M car or AMG car. he/she expect some sort of agility ... Looks like this car is lazy... Do you guys know how much it does weigh?
