@mjr24 - no doubt in my mind they are worse after my service appointment where they supposedly checked to see if my pads qualified and changed brake fluid.
It's been so freakin cold here for weeks that I cannot say if temperature has much to do with it. Right now it's a before/after service that seems to have generated worse behavior. I'm going back next week for some other stuff but this will also be at the top of my list. |

I guess I'm wondering if the problem will get better once it gets warm out (as I've only owned my M since December).....or possibly even worse?

In the current version of the owners manual it is stated that due to the special design of the brakes operating noises are normal. Also a solution to the problem ;-)

So over the winter, the annoying break squeaking noise got really bad and when I had to bring the car back to the dealer to fix something else, I mentioned about the break noise again. Guess what I I was told that time, the SA said that the break noise was a normal situation on all the M cars and yes, they can try to fix it, but I will have to pay for the inspection and parts if any adjustment or replacement is done. Shouldn't it be covered by the warranty if it has been a faulty design? Anybody have an idea about what the F if they even know what they are talking about? My brakes were all 78% or higher remaining at that moment. This dealer BS skill just reached another level IMO.

So my joke of a local dealer told me they don't have the parts to do the SIB and don't know when they would receive them in. They also offered to look at my brakes but of course their earliest service appointment is over two weeks out and I know they won't do anything.

So next week on Thursday my mechanic will be replacing all my pads with the updated pads for 2015 models that he said don't squeak anymore because the 14's had a frequency vibration brace or something on the back with those counter weights, and it shouldn't squeak after that. Hopefully this works. That tightening process only made them worse and they sound horrible right now. It's comparable to the sound of a NYC dump truck.

SIB service Info ?
Reading through thread it appears the fix is to replace the pads if the weighted absorbers are loose. My pads don't have the weighted absorbers (CY13) and I'm staring to wonder if my M will be serviced under the SIB or not. |

Sonax wheel cleaner full effect has worked well for me. It is easy to use and safe for wheels.
I think Omaha sets the record for the amount of the salt/brine mixture used on our streets in the winter! Dave |

So I have the carbon breaks and they squeal really badly also. I wonder if these fixes would apply to my breaks?

My dealer still has no idea what I am talking about. I sent him this and they claim there is no SIB.
