UPDATE OCTOBER 2
As of today, there is no spare tire that fits on. The calipers are so big, wheel doesnt clear the brakes. We requested a spare from Germany however it also didn't fit. They either sent a wrong one or it was for e60 m5, for that reason we requested another one and will test again. It is so disturbing to drive the car without a spare. Road assistance is so slow and if you have a flat tire, it ruins your all day. Still looking and will let you know with updates. Thanks. |

You've probably already tried this but, there are 2 parts in the EPC as applicable to the M5 (doesn't mean much as its riddled with errors), but:
6 11 2 182 460 Space saver wheel 4X17 ET:5 with Continental CST 17tyre 135/90R17 104M. It says for dealer use only and not for customer use?? 36 11 6 788 203 Compact spare-wheel system 3,5X17 ET:8. Given its BMW’s database, just because it says it fits it may not….. First pic is the dealer only system. Second pic is the compact spare. Last edited by rjn21; 10-14-2013 at 06:34 AM.. |

It is regular F10 5 series carryover. The above tire won't clear F10 M5 brakes.

would love to get a spare in my trunk as well… i don't feel good relying on that sticky goop bottle in the trunk. don't think it would do me much good in the event of a real blowout.

Dude I'm down. I appreciate you going the extra length. Now it makes me pissed off that when me and greentrbo tried to pick up the slack, we were told by a well known wheel company it can't be done unless it is a full size wheel. Everyone should jump on this. Now a question. For those of us who have spacers will the spare work with it ? Good job bto

Thanks for your perseverance on the spare issue. I assume the outside diameter of the tire is the same as stock, how much vertical height difference is there when the spare is laid flat in the trunk compared to the stock 265/40-19 front tire? Or, if you don't have that sized tire to compare, what is the vertical height of your spare when laid flat? Is the tire the highest point or is the rim when laid flat? I have installed studs in the hubs so don't need the longer bolts for rear mounting. How thick is the rear spacer needed? I'll appreciate your answer so I can see how much space I'm saving with your spare. Thanks.

I'm in. Let's do this. How large of a spacer for the rear? If we are already using a large enough spacer, can we buy wheel without spacer and bolts?
