RKP lip installed
Quick summary/review of the lip. Mine arrived yesterday from IND. Of course, it was packed unbelievably well, with the IND signature microfiber towels followed by bubble wrap. The lip construction is flawless; the weave is perfect and there was no shipping damage! IND FTW!
After taking a hard look at the lip (and the M-performance spoiler) I decided to take on the installation myself - I am glad I did, was far easier than anticipated. The fitment of the RKP lip is just about as perfect as it can get. A test fit revealed that I did not need to do any trimming, side-to-side or off the rear edge (where it fits under the bumper). Slid it in, pushed in place, checked the gaps (very little if any) and that the screw holes lined up. Perfect. Took it off, wiped the bumper down to degrease, and stuck the lip in place. Took a grand total of 20 minutes. Couldn't be happier. It is one fine piece of kit. For those with the M-performance spoiler, the 2x2 weave is almost a perfect match. Looks like the weave is a tiny bit larger than the spoiler but it is very close. Also, the area that sticks out in front of the car does change your approach and departure angles...I'd say you need to be aware of your car being roughly .5" to 1" lower...and that is on an H&R drop. Not a scientific measurement, just a gut feeling

M54 - that looks stunning!
Kudos for putting that on yourself. I did exactly the same thing - wasn't sure about the BMW performance spoiler - which I loved on my m3 - on how it would look on the larger car - but I think it looks simply gorgeous! Def - the 1x1 weave on the front lip would look a bit of a mismatch with what BMW has on the spoiler. You are correct on the fit - I saw the tech jack the car up - and the install was very quick - a fantastic fit for an aftermarket part, IMHO |

Looks awesome. Please clarify the install. Factory screws and tape on the lip?

That's correct 3M tape + Factory screws / OEM mounting points. No drilling, glue or cutting needed.

Someone mentioned he had to buy second lip as the first one flew away. I would definitely put a few drops of silicon here and there just to be safe.

Put 200 miles on the car today with some spirited driving and the lip is still solidly in place.

Not the same lip at all. The RKP lip uses 3M tape + Factory screws / OEM mounting points. There is no need for glue at all.

M54ccibo & Nate - I also have the AW. Got mine Monday and installed it on Tuesday. I had a very minor doubt about the carbon fiber and the AW as being too much of a contrast but erased all of the doubt once I put it on.
Nice pix and I will post some of my car this weekend. Congrats.

Got mine today and it was an easy install with a great fit. I do like the 2x2 and in fact am considering the BMW performance rear spoiler as well. With a little fancy IND paint work for it, another nice accent to a great car. We've all seen the close shots of the RKP piece, so I thought I'd post a couple from more distance to show how well it integrates into the bodywork. Really finishes the front to my eye. IND is slipping though, the color of my micro fiber towels with the RKP didn't match the color of those used when shipping the vents and grill.......
