Looking at replacing my injectors just as preventative maintenance. I can get a set of EU5 bosch injectors for £450.
Are injector problems that common? My car has 55k miles. |

Ive had the pass side hpfp replaced under warranty on mine. Originally thought my car needed injectors but dealer told me car would start misfiring if it needed injectors. HAve 66k on mine and original injectors. on 2013 cars i know for a fact they are under extended warranty of 10 years/120k. If you do have a injector(s) go bad, they will only replace the ones that are bad, not all of them.

I hate to revive an old thread but thought I'd share. I think I might have the highest mileage injectors lol - I'm at 101K miles and my injectors just went out. Took it to BMW and they confirmed this was the issue. I've been on top of all other maintenance and haven't had any issues with the car until now. Hoping my engine hasn't blown. They're replacing all damaged injectors under warranty.

I was on pretty much exactly the same mileage when my injectors/spark plugs/coils were replaced at the BMW dealership. They didn’t fail at this point, but I rather took the preventive route than having engine issues. Injector replacement is a must do and I waited too long IMHO, but I was lucky and didn’t experience any issues! I also had the rod bearings and oil pump replaced shortly afterwards, the original bearings were still in good shape, but you never know. After all, it’s some high dollar maintenance if you can’t do it all yourself 😬 |

At 170k, I’m still running the original injectors. Stage 2 tune and a little E85 a few times a year. It’s all a crap shoot. Drive and enjoy your car is my motto.

I bought the car pre-owned, but I know the previous owner and its service history is excellent. |

Ethanol has been proved to be harmful to ICE engines, at an 85% ethanol mix (is that right?) it is a death sentence to gas engines so it's best to use an ethanol free fuel for M cars like Texaco's latest 99 RON, over here anyway.

I think death sentence is a bit strong, its a fuel thats at the pump in a lot of countries for cars with ICE it just depends if the car has suitable hardware to support AFAIK

^ I've said before, ''ethanol is hygroscopic, it attracts moisture from the air causing condensation and leads to corrosion of internal fuel system car parts and also damages plastics and seals, so bad news for M cars in the long term'. Having it at E5 and E10 here is bad enough.
