Let's see how the stage I holds up. I believe that the DCT can hold up to around 650 lb ft torque..if it can then the stage I will be okay..I hope..

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1128469 However, even if you modified your car to make 800lbs/ft of torque but only drive the car in city traffic at like 35mph as a daily commuter to work and back with no hard driving on the weekends, you won't run into the same issues as Joe did. So it just depends on how hard you drive the car. I have been running over 600lbs/ft for over a year now with hardly any hard driving and my clutch/DCT have held up for the most part fine with only perhaps a perception that my clutch seemed to engage hard on rare occasion, but even that mostly went away when BMW updated my car with the latest software and some of that code was for making the DCT shift a heck of a lot smoother.

Good point. If you hammer your car on the low end there will be problems.

We've flashed a couple of local M5s and they've been holding up just fine for street use. Those that see track or airstrip use would likely need beefed up internals on the DCT side.

Well I always drive my car like it's intended. As you guys know my car had bms and I abused the hell out of it. Great product I may add. Got rid if it and got a tune. I haven't yet reported on it as I've been working A lot. But I can report even though ive still got a couple things to work out, it's still being pushed to 180mph without any problems clutch wise or dtm or cel. And no this isn't a BR TUNE any more and not ESS. When finally finished I'll do a report.

Tom, just curious. With the new DME the way it is there any red flags when you go into BMW for warranty work?

+1 for red flags on DME. How will it work for people located overseas. This would be a big hassle to re-send ECU's everytime the dealer updates the software on the DME. I hope remote updating is do-able in the near future. I had to throw away my catless DP's until a solution is found

Love the power, but the only thing I worry about is motor and turbo reliability; I can't imagine the stock internals taking more of a beating and lasting very long.

Same answer for all the software flash questions...
If the software level is changed and you receive a software update from BMW or if you get a "check engine" light and the repair includes a DME update which is very possible at some point, your performance tune will be over written. |

Would love to see more 7s on the dyno. Let me know if you have any questions beforehand or drop by our facility to meet in person.
