Nope. Haven't heard anything today. Really sucks being kept in the dark as the status of the cars, whether they are still in customs or at the VDC.

Haven't got any updates from the WW website. Nothing from the dealer. No word from the VDC. I think they lost our cars.
I think the question now is: M5, where are thou M5?!

My ED M5 was on the fidelio as well. According to my dealer (South County BMW in San Diego) they're just waiting for it to be picked by the transport company but they don't know when that will happen. i'm thinking they don't have the oil pumps on hand to repair the cars.

Bingo. They are lying to cover. I was annoyed, now I'm pretty pissed. 100k car buyers treated like drive thru fast food customers. |

I'm thinking that I'm going to BMWNA and try to get some answers. Or maybe try to find a number to the VDC.
Bimmerpost Member AGS also picked up his car for ED on Sept 1st and his M5 reached the port on Sept 26th and was picked up by him on Oct 5th. That's 9 days, including new oil pump put on at the VDC on the East Coast. The VDC in Port Hueneme should have had enough time to get enough new oil pumps for our cars by the time the Fidelio reached there on the 20th of Oct. Since the Fidelio has docked on the 20th, I haven't had any indication of movement or action for our M5's. Today is day number 7 in Port Hueneme which means that if things go as fast as they did with AGS's car we should be expecting to pick our cars up at the dealer this Monday the 29th of Oct, but no one has heard anything. I think something is starting to smell fishy. I am going to check the WW website one more time before I try calling either BMWNA or the VDC. I'll post here if I find anything out.

Something is fishy I think. I just tried to call the BMW VDC in Oxnard. Thier office hours according to the recording are 7:30am to 4pm M-F, which is fine. However when I visited the VDC myself last year in person, I remember the tour guide saying this:
"They normally work 7AM to 4PM M-F, but worked Saturdays when there was high demand for “Priority One” vehicles (Priority One is a car that is already sold)." Being that our ED cars are high priority because they are already sold, I don't see why they shouldn't be working unless they were already processed this week, but we haven't gotten any word. Also I know for a fact, after my visit there, that they can process over 400 cars a day, and the normal turnaround time for any car is 2 days before it gets put on the shipping truck. Additionally, they said the ED cars are the highest priority and always get pushed out the quickest. Again, the lack of information and communication, make me think they there is an issue with oil pump availabilty. I have asked my CA a few times already if there was any way to find out if the VDC does in fact have enough oil pumps, but I have not gotten any real answers. I'll give the VDC a call back on Monday and see what BMW NA Customer Relations can do.

Anyways, yeah it's really bothering me that we still have no idea when the cars will be at the dealer for pick-up.

I was not going to bitch too much about "compensation" for oil pump if they delivered my fixed car without delay. I think we are now in the delays...

Dudes,
I just got a little bit more info from BMW Customer Relations. They put in my VIN number and were able to see on their system that my car was recieved into the VDC last Friday on the 26th. Sounds like it was slow to get through customs. I can't speak for anybody else, but the dude told me that my car will probably be processed through the VPC starting today and may be at the dealer as early as Wednesday, assuming they have enough oil pumps and stuff there. I hope he is right. I do feel a little better at least knowing that the car is at least at the VPC and knowing when it got there.

If my car is scheduled to hit port nov 5 and I don't need a new oil pump, what is a good guesstimate for arrival to my dealer in Portland,OR?

I'm hoping its a 9-10 day deal, from arrival at port to arrival at dealer. I need a new pump, but I'm also picking up from Santa Barbara. So I bet your timing will be similar.

You were on the CEPHEUS LEADER too, correct? Just got word from my CA that my car which was on that ship is still showing the same status - in transit to VPC.

Dudes,
Update from my dealer. Inquiry states that I can expect to take re-delivery of the Beast this Thursday at the dealer, but my dealer doesn't want to hold our breath just yet. They want to wait until they get the notification that the car is on the truck, which is supposed to be on Wednesday(tomorrow). Trying not to get too excited, but today is day 174 for me.
