The gtr is ugly and sounds like a big displacement VTEC engine. The wailing of a NA high revving Ferrari V8 engine is PRICELESS.

P.S. I love GT-Rs and I completly understand why people buy these cars , it just does'nt give me everything I want in a car , it's a matter of to each his own taste ! Last edited by Alex07M3; 03-03-2012 at 03:43 PM.. |

Awesome car, Congrats! I considered it but I had to have a true manual transmission. For pure speed the only stock car that can give the gtr a run for its money is the Veyron 12X more$ though.

The GT-R does not have an automatic transmission. It has a twin-clutch transaxle just like the DCT and PDK and executes shifts in 5 or less milliseconds.

While it was originally posted in the wrong forum and the OP may have been slightly over-excited in his comparison, it is now in the "non-BMW" forum so you would expect true enthusiasts to be a little less bitter. Most of the ignorant posts reek of jealousy because the GT R is so clearly the better performer. |

All -
I was in no way bashing Ferrari or the Italia. I love Ferrari's and a lot of other cars. Actually, before I decided on the GT-R over another M3 Coupe, I was looking at used Superleggera but I'm still a bit far off from being able to feasibly afford one of those. I've never owned a turbo charged or AWD sports car before so I wanted to experience it. I've had 3 M3's and felt it was time for something different. The GT-R is a beast but it definitely does not have as MUCH soul as a car with a NA V8 and rear-wheel drive. However, the GT-R does have a profound personality and it drives really well. I plan to add a midpipe and intakes so I can hear more of its personality.
