I'm just saying, that's not a small amount of money and you could certainly enjoy several track days in a given year for less than that. Granted you won't get a BMW helmet or key chains and nobody will really pay attention to what you are doing as much as they do in the M school. |

$3055 - $300 (2 nights hotel) - $200 (6 meals) - $300 (helmet) - $150 (clothing merchandise) - $1500 (set of tires) - $400 (2 days insurance) - $160 (fuel) - $720 (instructors assuming 0.3 instructors per student for 16 hours at $150 per hour) = a loss of $675 And this isn't including track rental, vehicle rental or maintenance.

porsche schools are equally as expensive, unless you are thinking of doing the gt3 class which is 10k.
you are also leaving out consumables (tires/brakes). they were swapping out tires every 2 days according to the instructors. since you only run the full track a few times and swap into different cars (M6, M3, 1M when I was there), I don't think the brakes get as much demand and they don't go through as many pads as one would do at a local track event. personally i think nothing is better than driving your own car. the costs of doing an HPDE school are initially much lower but are essentially a wash in the end IMHO. oh and upgrade to the 2 day. highly worth it.

For those interested in an M School, Jonathan Stribble, who works at the Performance Center in South Carolina, is, once again, doing his annual fundraising for the American Cancer Society, where he is offering up a chance to win a 1 Day M School. He has done this for the last several years.
If you win, you can also chose to apply the value of the 1 Day School towards another school, such as the 2 Day M School. For each $10 donation to the American Cancer Society through Jonathan's site below, he will enter your name into the drawing (which is on Friday, May 23, 2014). He has all the details listed on his Relay for Life page: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/stribble Over the years, Jonathan has done, and continues to do great work raising money for the American Cancer Society. So, if you are able, and would like a chance to win a 1 Day M School, please support his efforts. Thanks! |

Old thread I know... Debating on a PCD vs 2 day M school. Price difference is obviously significant. How did you get a 1 day voucher? And, aren't they only open M-F for car deliveries? Could you do a Friday PCD and then a Sat-Sun M School? Can that 15% discount be combined with the BMWCCA 15% discount by chance?

You don't get any kind of discount on M school if you buy an M do you? I'd [wishfully] think/hope that if I'm going to give them $3500 for the school and be there for PCD on my M4 that they could try and work me in on the Friday, the day right before.

Never hurts to ask for a friday PCD, but it all depends on when you car gets stateside and passes customs.

So, I should/would get a voucher for one of the days for getting my car? As in a $2000 discount? And that's good for any repeat BMW? My friend is about to possibly get another 3 series as well and might come.

Not sure, if they will give you a voucher. i wasnt expecting it. I do know that voucher was for a reg 1 day school (not M school) which at the time was valued at $750.
