stats dont look right ctsv was 3.9 0 to 60 who came up with those stats over 4?, bmw?
and a 4.4 0 to 60 for the M5 is unacceptable. had to break the 4 second mark for me to want to buy. my M3 can beat that and seat 5 and looks better and is a whole lot less. no thanks BMW i will pass. |

Mercedes have overtaken BMW in the weight to power stakes, it will soon be felt IMO.

Agility is not solely based on weight factor. Design of the vehicle performance in terms of agility is based on multiple variables such as how the vehicle weight transfers during cornering/acceleration, how steering matches the vehicle characteristics, tires, suspension settings, list goes on. Although there hasn't been any reviews of them, according to past traditions, I'm pretty sure BMW will take the agility factor. 50 pounds will hardly justify the nimble-ness of a vehicle anyway.

You mean apart from "by the numbers" wherein the CTS-V beats the old M5, the E63 and the S6 in virtually every relevant performance category?
For the amount of time and money BMW expended to beat the CTS-V, the F10 M5 bloody well better be faster. |

well thats three wickedly nice cars.
couple of thoughts: - looks are subjective- in that comparo I would take the M5, followed by the V. -As for performance- obviously they are all three amazing, and very close, and can be modified to be even better. -for value- not much of a contest there. The V is world class performance for reasonable dollars. -I am confident the new M5 is undersrated/stated... And for those celebrating better ring times than the V- I wouldn't think that will last long. A smaller production pulley, slightly more aggressive tune, ceramic brakes- the V will be there. Then, in turn- a couple of small tweaks to the M5- right back in front again.

You are comparing the beauty and the beast. The sedan looked awesome for about a year. It quickly got old. Coupe on the other hand, shouldn't be badged as Cadillac. That thing is on my top 3 list for my next car next to S5/E550 Coupe.

The CTS peak torque is higher than the M5's.. it could still be making more torque than M5 at 1500 RPM |

This is a joke - The more I read about upcoming models, them more it seems BMW is heading down the toilet.
MB has reduced weight, improved power, efficiency, trannies, reliability and interior quality with its last few redesigns. GM is essentially kicking a** with this latest batch of LS engines. The f10 has turned out to be a 116" WB fat porker, mini 7 series outweighing a comparable E-class by 200 lbs. Joke! I don't care how much technogadgetry - ARS, DSC, DDC, Active Steering is used to compensate, but put the driving back in the hands of the driver. Please don't f*** up the f30 next year..... BMWer for lifer, now having 2nd thoughts....
