You have 34 11 2 284 869 if you have these pads with the balance weights. You can see them through the back of the caliper. These are the old Pre April 2014 pads with no balance weights

for those in Canada, I brought my car into a diff dealership today who actually initiative and followed the American SIB to solve my brake squeals.
they found my driver side brakes had loose weights. and also ordered me a new set of brake pads to sort out the issue. those will be installed on wednesday, lets see if this solves the issue kudos to this dealership for actually listening and caring |

Just had my brakes and rotors replaced with the new style ones under warranty after referencing the above SIB. Picking car up soon. Hope it worked!

I brought my car in and my pads and rotors were below spec. They replaced the rotors and brake pads with the new style pads under warranty. Even though I didn't qualify for the SIB originally.

Only have 24k miles. Surprised needed entire brakes done this early. I don't granny the car but don't track it either. Said rotor was below min. thickness. |

Same here. with 17k on the clock, due to large cracks on front rotors they replaced pads and rotors.

So I went into my dealer, provided the SIB# to my SA, 2 days later I get the car back with New Front Rotors, Pads, and two new (unrelated) rear tires paid for by insurance. 9000 miles on the car... No squeeling so far. Happy Camper.

So this is an interesting thread - seems to not necessarily apply to 2013 or 2014 F10 models - kind of hit & miss depending on your dealer. So far my dealer (Calgary BMW) is not willing to listen - at best they've said that they will inspect, clean & brush off any residue brake dust - thats it!!
I still stand by my statement that us Canadian boys are getting a raw deal. |

During the 20K mile service I asked the service advisor to address the brake squeal and even provided the SIB number! When the work was completed the service manager advised me that the aforementioned SIB did not apply to my car and the brakes were fully functional! Since then I've tried to contact the GM but she has not made any attempt to contact me. So I filed a complaint with BMW NA. If anyone is ever driving through Texas, I highly recommend avoiding BMW of El Paso. I can only assume the GM's only concern is new car sales? It is the worst BMW dealership I've dealt with in the US. Last edited by skypx; 06-15-2015 at 03:15 PM.. |

I just got mine done at the BMW Store in Vancouver. They were great for a day and then the squeaking came back hard - on the rear. I dare say it's worse now... car is back in and BMW is being "consulted".
