Yeah it's really annoying. One trick I did learn is you wait until all the oil is drained from the oil drain plug before pulling the filter.

Also still kinda annoyed that we don't have an actual physical dipstick.

I purchased weistec's billet oil filter cap and works great. Remove the screw, let it drain and then you pull the cap off with a socket. No spills anywhere! I haven't had any issue with it or with it leaking one bit! Quality product

Picture is not mine, only for reference.

^^ For sure those are nice units - but out of principle I could never get past the $200 price tag on them. I always just pull the belly pan. It’s a couple minutes more work but worth avoiding the mess.

How much did you pay for your DCT service? I got quotes for $1000 and $1400. I'm nearing 30k miles and I want to do it.

Made a spare wheel. Bought a scratched up wheel, a cheap tire, and some plasti dip.

After putting it all together, it looks new and it's full size. Best thing of all, under $300. Whereas a spare wheel kit from ECS is $700+

Wow, that's great! The most I'm willing to do is oil changes and brakes.

Doctor X your car is sharp. I REALLY like those HRE's. How much did they set you back if you dont mind me asking (otherwise I wont be offended if you tell me to kick rocks). Also on the DCT service I've heard varying things, from if you dont track the car you shouldn't need to replace the fluid to replace anywhere from 40k to 60k? Did you do it as a preventative measure or did something force your hand?
