Well, we don't have kids - hell, we don't even have a dog.
The cat doesn't take up much room. 3 beds, 2 baths = Our owner's suite, an office for me, an office for her and a hall bath for guests to use. The Peleton and the Bowflex are in the basement (as is the laundry). Now a ~2000/ft Eichler in Sunnyvale would be awesome, if we won the lottery... |

You guys need to come to TX, no income tax and costs approx 150-200/ft to build custom new.
Here's just under 500k new construction with 4-car garage about 45-50 mins commute to downtown Dallas... https://www.zillow.com/homes/13842-F...49773679_zpid/ 1m will get you the same type of house with double the sqft, tradeoff is the property taxes are high here

No Eichlers here in Seattle (that I know of) but there were a few architects in the 60s who were heavily influenced by the work he did. My wife and I live in one such house and absolutely love it.
