Just learned today the bike was picked up by the transporter. 1st-world problem is getting it into my garage as we had a snowstorm last week that left 6" of "snowcrete" (snow/sleet). Temps have been below freezing since and my place gets little sun in the wintertime.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

We're also snowed in here in NYC, and the temps are going to stay well below freezing for the next two weeks. |

Apparently, Wednesday is delivery day! Hope the stock tires have a bit of all-season tread to them. Fingers crossed...

Efthreeoh's Beemer update...
So the Big B arrived late today. After a safe trip via the transporter guy, who had 3 bikes in his diesel Sprinter van and me trying not to panic about the tens of millimeters separating my brand new K1600B from a used Harley with studs on its paniers (er bags) and the sidewall of the van, the Big B arrived unscathed! I've ridden it about 18 feet . The weather cooperated as I had hoped. No drama about grip getting a brand new 758-pound Bagger that I'd never seen before let alone test fit, or ride, up the apon of my shop floor and parked. It now sits along side the Valkyrie and I'm sure my trusty old Honda is now chatting me up about my ownership creds. This motorcycle is no Bagger, lol. It's just a big, heavyweight Liter-Plus-Class sportbike with panniers. And really what I wanted. Though I've yet to ride it, the in-line 1.6L sounds like a fricken beast. It is quite LOUD at warmup idle. Fitment is not yet confirmed. Some of flybigjet above noted items seem to ring true. The pegs are a bit high up, the grips a bit skinny for a "Bagger". The floorboards feel great. The handlebars seem to be in the right place for my sleeve length. Seat height is perfect. Synchronicity as well, as my tag arrived earlier today from the DMV. Hopefully I'll get a first ride in soon once the weather clears and report in. Thanks everyone for the interest. Last edited by Efthreeoh; 02-09-2026 at 07:43 AM.. |

Most confidence inspiring bike even without the electronic aids. This bike was as analog as they come:

Your profile says NJ, which track is that? So far I've done NJMP, NYST and Pitt Race, which is now sold and closing unfortunately. Already have NJMP and NYST track days schedule this year, also want to do Pocono. |

So I've sold my R6, got $5200. While I do love my bike, I've really fell in love with a friends DRZ400 for the on and offroad. So I want to get one.
Torn on new with the fuel inj or the way its been for 25 years with a carb. This was the last pic I got of it. The buyer loved it, asked alot of questions and was familiar with what all was done. His friend that gave him a ride to me was excited for him as well. Gonna get a DRZ here soon when I figure out whether I want a new fuel inj or a used carb one that was that way for 25 years. Because they recently switched from carb to FI |

Anyone have experience with Andreani carts or Nitron shock?
I just got a new job that is remote, so it's time to refresh the S1000XR and turn it into a weekend/track bike. At 59k miles, the suspension needs some love. |

Efthreeoh's Beemer Update update.
Well, on Saturday, the driveway dried up enough and was solid enough to get The B out to the street for an initial ride. It was around 48°F, so not ideal conditions for a test ride as I wear an open-face helmet. I'm not in tip top riding shape either since last year was consumed with restoration of the Flood of May 2025 (for historical context - LOL); I've not ridden much since 2023. I'll say right off the bat The B was not as impressive to me as many of the influencer videos and real motorcyclist journalists indicate. The engine is really good, smooth and lots of power, but man does it sound like its going to grenade at low RPM below 2,500. The suspension is very good with decent feedback through the bars but riding a Duolever type front end is just different than telescoping forks. Trying to adapt to the front suspension type on such a cold day along with reacquainting myself to a fixed-fairing was uncomfortable. The compression and rebound dampening are excellent however, as are the spring rates. I am waiting for and looking forward to a second ride event in much warmer weather where I can better concentrate on the ride rather than the elements. Bring on April! Efthreeoh's Beemer Update again (last one)...
Yesterday I was able to get the K1600B out for an extended ride and run some errands with it, as one might do. I took a large envelope to the post office to mail my state taxes, which fit in the pannier nicely. I then went to the grocery store and bought some foodstuffs, again all which the panniers handled nicely. The B passed the broken egg test. I'll be honest here and say I was close to calling it a mistake to buy the new scooter sight unseen and was considering the financial impact of selling it and cut my losses. My first two rides were not stellar. I think a lot has to do with somehow I've aged a bit since the past when riding was more a significant part of my travels. There are a lot of reasons for that I don't need to delve into. Yesterday, some of the aging issues have subsided, which is leaning more positive for keeping the new scooter. The windshield sucks for me, as I like to ride with an open-face helmet and I'm just too tall in the seat to find clean air or still air. Research indicates a solution for the windshield is easily and inexpensively solvable. I have some credit card reward money to use towards a need screen, so that is a zero-cost impact to play with buying a screen or two to find the right one. Ergos: I think I will consider lowering the pegs as flybigjet recommended. The mirrors I do not really like because they are difficult to position, but I can live with that. I need to get used to the throttle-by-wire system. I noticed it pushes back under some situations with the resistance not linear like on a cable throttle. The seat and bars I find quite comfortable. The controls, which must include interface for the smart phone integration are the best in the business and much better than Honda's solution for the Goldwing. Drivetrain and Chassis: The engine makes noises in the sub-2500 RPM range that are concerning. Seems this is a common observation about the K1600 in-line 6. It's under warranty for the next 40 months, so if the engine grenades, I'm covered. The transmission at times is one ass clunky mechanism, which I'd expect from a Harley but not a BMW. The K1600 has BMW's shift-assist pro, which lets you shift up and down without the clutch once in motion. I'm not sure why this apparatus is necessary on a street motorcycle and comes across as a complete gimmick to me. BMW says it is to relieve hand fatigue from using the clutch, which I find amusing. If shifting a motorcycle is such a chore to create hand fatigue, then I'll hang up my helmet. For me the system makes the shifter spongey. It can be removed as I understand it. I need to look into that. But no misunderstanding about it, the engine is a beast and a most excellent sample of a BMW in-line-6. The chassis is superb. The suspension and steering are excellent, and it rides fantastically. The brakes are excellent as one expects from a BMW, Bimmer or Beemer. It feels good to ride again; that's the best part of this whole endeavor. Again, thanks for the interest in reading this post.

Because I'd just leave it flipped up all the time. I've had several full face helmets in the past and always rode with the visor open. Shoei RJ Air is my current lid. Love it. Love Shoei helmets.
