Overdue spark plug change

That time has come to definitely replace the spark plugs. Car runs fine but the last pulls had the motor going into slow mode then me switching off for a couple minutes and starting running fine normally.
I've been pushing it a bit at over 40k with plugs that have never been changed from new so have the plugs at the ready just got to get the special slim line socket and get on with it when I have some time. The plug gap will be the standard .032 and once fitted should have a little better gas mileage too.

If you're slightly mechanically inclined, it's a breeze. Don't chicken out lol

I didn't do mine myself either, heard the ones in the back are quite hard to get to.

Took car in today and waited while they did them (have to wait for engine to cool) and had the dealers' BMW boxed plugs with the 2 years warranty. Looked very good with all those DME inserts all cleaned up,i asked for my old plugs back and they all looked good light grey color. Took it to a dealer out of town and was pleased with the service.

Having done them, I certainly wouldn't call it a breeze. It's not hard in that it needs a lot of technical knowledge, but I certainly found it a PITA because of the tight spaces and all the crap in the way of the back plugs. I think I had swivel -> extension -> wobble extension to be able to snake the back ones out.
Certainly a heck of a lot more of a pain than my Cobra. Undo a few screws, pop a cover off and use one extension to zip them out. Barely enough time to finish a beer.

That said, I'd do it again before paying the crazy rates shops wanted to charge me.

Garage List
I'd give at 2 out of 5 on the difficulty level with one being the easiest. Tools and patience is what it comes down to. If you are tuning the car BMS has the plugs, the perfect socket and a gapping tool. If you try to jump in with just the tools in your tool box you may find yourself in a ping as the plug well requires a very thin walled socket.
