Likely the most dangerous circuit of the F1 season. High-speed street circuit: if a driver crashes, or suffers a power loss, behind a curve, it could end with disaster because of the very high speed of the oncoming cars.

Fastest lap in the 2021 race: average speed of 244.962 km/h (Lewis Hamilton) (and even faster during qualification with cars driving all sorts of speeds). Compare with the fastest lap in the 2021 Monaco race: average speed of 164.769 km/h (Lewis Hamilton).

OK, the cars have superior brakes, there is the yellow flags system and drivers get on-board warnings, but at those speeds in the straights, margins to take evasive action are narrow, especially if debris is shattered around.

Lewis Hamilton passing at 326 km/h (203 mph) during Free Practice 2 in 2021 - just imagine for a moment another car stranded in the middle of the circuit behind a curve, surrounded by debris:

Lewis Hamilton pole position lap of 2021:

Lets go, even more pumped for this season after first race. Very fast circuit, much different than Bahrain. RB likes the fast corners. Should be a battle with Ferrari.

Excited for this race.

Considering the speeds on this track and the limited time to the race - I think we're going to see Max vs Charles again with a lot of Ferrari powered cars in the Top 10 and Mercedes powered cars in the back. Lewis did say the Merc is good on fast corners but they lack the speed in the straights even with DRS. Mercedes has limited time to get that engine working right but it's possible.

IMHO .The 'Jeddah Street Circuit is a "Car Graveyard" Remember the 2021 race ...
It was a mess with all those walls all over the place , when something goes wrong , there's NO escape !
Let's hope ...This time they can keep it safe !

P1 ?
This one (Jeddah) and P1 is for Sainz , because he can get Charlie's race mappings from Bahrain as well ..
And Binotto said : We don't have a first driver !

1 - Sainz
2 - Charlie
3 - MAX
4 - Checo
5 - HAM
6 - RUS
And hopefully P7 - Is for Kmag...Go KEVIN !!!

Can't wait ...

Charles qualified P4 last year in that terrible car. Depending on what the car changes will be I think we'll see:

P1: LEC
P2: VER
P3: PER
P4: SAI
P5: BOT

I like both Charles and Max A LOT so I'm pretty happy seeing either of them taking the win.

I'm amazed how some journos are saying of how Lec 'outfoxed' Max at the end of the Bahrain race...as Max's car was failing, what a bunch of clueless lol

I think to be fair LeClerc had a flawless race. He calculated his overtakes unbelievably well. LeClerc had better pace but Max outbraking him into his overtakes were a thing of beauty. Max's left foot is a work of art. No incidents, no crashes, no crying about the other driver.

This is RACING. I can't wait to see more of it.

Weren't you claiming Max 'outfoxed' Lewis at the end of Abu Dhabi... Lewis was on old, cold, hard tires while Max was on fresh softs. Clueless lol

Given the high speed risks of the Jeddah circuit, I sincerely hope that no crash happens ever again like the horrific one violently claiming the life of F2 driver Anthoine Hubert in 2019 at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Not gonna post that footage.

Here's LEC having a mishap at the Jeddah circuit in 2021 during Free Practice 2:

In 2019 LEC spoke about that 2012 "inchident" (see 01:00 to 01:09 of the 2012 footage above):

There is a difference between a car slowing up to retire to one with used tyres that the driver of had every chance to fit fresh ones

Except he wouldn’t need to if the rules were followed. Remember the part where someone got fired for that? Or the part where the FIA said it was an error on his part?

It’s a ridiculous argument to say otherwise.
