OBD Port Relocation

Has anyone relocated their OBD port?

I am installing an OBD tracker and I don't want it easy to find.

In an ideal world, I want to put a dummy OBD in place or the original. Split the obd port so I can secure the tracker somewhere behind the dash and then leave a "spare" port somewhere for plugging into etc.

Thanks

You can use an extension cable and hide it somewhere else. Flat ribbon low profile units are available on amazon and ebay.

It would still end up in relatively the same location.

OP, I'd suggest opening up the ODB2 device and finding out exactly which pins relate to power, then re-locating it to under the trunk tray, near the battery.

There is likely more required than just power..Generally there is an "ignition on" line used in these devices. Agree that one option is to open it up and check failing that ability the extension with a low profile profile head would be the option. Plug the splitter cable into the relocated (original) obd port, Plug the tracker into one of the "splits" and put the other split at the original port location. There is enough room there to tuck this stuff away. The one concern would be whether the GPS signal would be strong enough under the dash.

Yeah the gps is really good on these, and I have a couple in existing cars.
TBH im just concerned about removing the existing OBD port and I'll fit a dummy in its place
