Should be covered under warranty or DINAN will cover it but doubt it was caused by DINAN.

I have around 800+HP crank and don't have any issues but I don't think I've ever punched it too hard from a stop.

I am making 1200hp axles right now. Once swapped I will have a spare set of cores if you want to convert those as well.

Hopefully it's not a combination of those specific two mods only or else I'm a goner. haha

Seriously, I am sure it was a defect because many are running much more power than that combo - and some of us are running that exact combo without issue.

All I know is that is not the first time I see this. Have seen several threads here about broken axle issue! and yes all of them are tuned car.... we had long discussion about tuning the cars with no respect to specifications and yes I know there are people who tuned their car with no issue but.... just saying

I assume he's having axles fabricated that will handle 1200hp, not that he has 1200hp currently.

Tow it into BMW. That's on them to figure out. They should cover it. If they said its due to power the. DINAN needs to cover it. I doubt that will happen.

If it worries you, return back to stock on the CAI.

I broke an axle too. But it was at the drag strip with sticky MT Drag Radials.

The axle didn't break, but rather the CV joint grenaded. The expensive part is you just cannot buy the CV joint, have to buy the entire axle. If I recall the axle was like $1,800 CAD.

allmotor_2000, I would also be interested in purchasing a set of upgraded axles.

Are you going through The Driveshaft Shop for these axles? Are they planning on having them in production and not just a one off?

Id fine a friendly service advisor (mod friendly)... BMW can easily deny coverage due to the tune.

Exactly my thoughts... surprised nobody said anything about this yet.

i'd return to stock, and stop posting on m5post until it's resolved..

It's being made at DSS right now - the first set. I probably lucked out when launching with MT's last time that nothing broke... but its a matter of time. Once I swap mine, you can buy the cores off mine if you like and I will give you the info at DSS.

Yes. I would assume they will do production but you need to confirm with them.

Axles are rated for 1200hp. Need the engine build to finish before I get there!
