Got my OEM Leather Wheel Refurbished with Alcantara

Many of you may have seen the thread about me asking about Steering Wheel refurbishment. I just installed my refurbished wheel and had time to take some high quality pictures. I got it done at Cobywheel.com and there were many options available, such as black or grey Alcantara, racing stripe at the 12 o'clock position, color and scheme of the stitching, etc.. but I decided to go with a simple OEM look. I got the ///M colors for the stitching, black Alcantara, and no stripe at the top. Got the wheel back and was amazed by the quality of the work. I installed the wheel back in the car and was very very pleased that I have also retained the Steering Wheel Heat function on the OEM wheel. The heat function still works great even with the Alcantara. I guess why makers of Performance Alcantara wheels don't include the heat is for cost / complication reasons. I love the fact that I now have an Alcantara wheel with heat. Feels so good, especially now that it's winter here and we have temps below freezing everyday. Plus the Alcantara doesn't get as cold when temperatures drop.

Here are some high quality pix I took today. I highly recommend Cobywheel if you have an OEM wheel that is just worn out from driving so much or got damaged.

Your M5 has rear fog lights?

But I thought BMW removes rear fog lamps for USA and Canada (?)

If you just install a European light switch, your rear fog lights will be automatically enabled. Many people (including me) have done this simple mod. ECS Tuning sells the switch for about $150. 5 minute install.

Yup! This!

Also fun fact. The M5 and M6 switch is plug and play, but the F80 M3 / F82 M4 switch is not. You have to code it in for the M3/M4.

Very cool! Looks like you modified the M Performance Wheel? I'm assuming there is not heat function on that wheel.

I like that you retained the M stitching. The work looks OEM grade. I'm sure you considered the blue stripe at the top. Why did you opt not to have it?

Hehe it's the symbol that looks like this

And all BMW M5/M6 units around the world (e.g. Germany/Rest of Europe/Asia-Pacific/Middle East/etc.) have this with the rear fog lamp button

Except for USA/Canada which does not have them for some reason........which is what I would like to know.
