Great looking car!

Question for you:

I got my '16 CP manual about eight months ago and it has full leather. There is decent/noticeable wear on the left side of the center console. Do you have any of that? Mine had about 45k miles and came off a 3 year lease. Surprised it had wear from that short an ownership/mileage.

Interested if anyone else had that...not trying to thread steal!

Thanks!! I do love this car, likely one I'll never let go of.

On the center console I have a couple of very tiny nicks in the leather next to the gear lever that I attribute to normal use by the previous owner (lease) but nothing else really. I did notice that the seatbelt receptacle has a piece of fuzzy material on the inside surface to prevent abrasion on the side of the center console which i keep conditioned with Lexol. Sometimes folks get in the car with their pockets full of sharp stuff-big keychain etc-that's my theory on how that wear happens.

Is the green a wrap or a special order? Killer! For someone who loves colors I can't figure out how I always end up with, black, white, or silver cars.

This an Individual color not a wrap. Times has changed really. When the INDIVIDUAL colors was just starting, mostly people were saying they would rather have a blk, gray, silver car. Now, with the F90, people are picking up INDI colors.

Im pretty sure this car has the highest MSRP short of the Jahre.

The story on this car is very interesting. Sort of an ugly duckling story that nobody wants. Dealer did not want it. Will do everything to sell it. Then when I looked at the specs, it has everything, incl a manual, ccb, comp pack, rear dvd and all options.

Ived owned more porsches than bmw but a green bmw(?), I dont know? But hell, I dont care about what people say anyway, so I bought it. Now, I have a 1 on 1 F10 M5. The last Manual M5.

So true. I've got a '13 Audi S4 manual with only 43k miles (special ordered new) and it's sat for 10 months since I got the manual F10 in February. Planning to dump it on BAT when I stop being lazy. Paying insurance on the thing and doesn't get driven.

For us owning a manual m5, does it add value? Does the rarity give us a small bump?

On my '16 CP 6 spd, I'd peg the delta at $7-8k. Would only expect that to widen over ownership. That's what is going to differentiate these cars from the F80...you can get a manual. Wouldn't argue that the F80 isn't a better car but it can't be had w/ a manual.

Agreed. The manuals are already commanding a premium and some have gone for some pretty high prices on BAT (one just sold for 80k). The premium is growing fast for the rare 6 speed.

I paid $67k for my 2013 almost 6.5 years ago (was a steal with only 17k miles on it). I wouldn't be surprised if I get what I paid or more back in the next 2-3 years (assuming miles are kept in decent shape).

Think you meant F90

The F10 reminds me of the 996, majority of the enthusiasts hated them when launched (some still do) - Turbo'd M5, synthesized sound, no driving soul and the list goes on and on.

However, being THE last M5, let alone BMW V8 w/ M6, to be had w/ 6MT it is bound to appreciate over time and demand a higher premium over its DCT counterpart.

I do appreciate your analogy but there's a major difference between this car and the 996, IMO. The 996 looked like crap! And the interior was very cheap. Both were significant departures from Porsche design language. The F10 had all of the mechanical characteristics you describe that made purists scoff, but the design language is all BMW, and the interior is very nice. In fact, compared to the E60 M5, this could be considered a return to more normal design language.

Oh please don't compare my car to the 996! 🤣 I think the 6 spd gives the car the soul you say it lacks. It's nothing more than a quick saloon w/the DCT. With so few options for manuals in cars that fit a car seat and have more space, I was naturally driven to it as my best option (prior was S4 manual). Definitely, has some things I'd change but really do love it.

Now, if Porsche would just put a manual in a Grab Turismo I'd be all in!

Its going to be hard to say if the car would appreciate in value. But I am sure it would be easy to sell in the future.

The F10 will always have the bragging rights of being the last M5 with a manual transmission.
